So looking at those stuff, I have a serious question - are we now in Destiny? Do we get armor like that in future?
It’s one thing if it’s just one armor like the Shinobi one which is totally not lore friendly. It’s the same with the Haunted helmet from Reach but at least this one was just for those who gained the last rank in this game [or Season but I prefer the original as comparison]. Also at least the Samurai armor looks less ancient. Also known as Yoroi.
I hope that armor and stuff like that will stay far, far away from Halo Infinite. I really love Poncho- or ghillie isnpired armor but I can play for the first one Destiny.
It’s totally worse that things which will remind you more of Destiny or For Honor taking place in Halo. I showed the armor some friends and none of them, even those who played Halo, didn’t believe me, that those were not from Destiny or For Honor.
I mean, this armor looks great and totally badass but it just don’t fit in Halo.
Halo is an Sci-Fi Military Shooter and not an Sci-Fi Fantasy Shooter [don’t get me wrong, I like both] and this is going out of hand.
Why not just make more Armor connected to some Ghillie stuff? Like the real thing?
Or are the Art artist just bored now?
And by the way - in time of a global pandemic it’s really respectless to release something like BlackGuard Carrion Crow.
Making stuff short - I hope that stuff is NOT coming to Halo Infinite, even if it look cool, it just don’t fit.
And by the way, don’t write now that stupid stuff like “if you don’t like it, don’t wear it.” We are talking about Halo - a game which once showed us the horror of aliens that wanted to drive us extinct.

I meant with Yoroi the samurai armor, thanks for the name
It’s as I said one thing if it’s one armor, totally a different thing if this stuff is there on mass.

en masse*
It’s coming OP. Sorry. Also not sorry. My Pagan, titanium-A plated backside is hungry for that sweet, sweet DRENGR armor… and tossing a MK V Helmet on it. MK V with a fur collar… How COOL!
Halo Infinite will have these things in abundance imo. They’ll use the battle pass for the lore items, they already said something like that as I recall. The fracture events will be for non canon like Yoroi and others. Then you’ll have a store crammed full of armour, emblems, charms etc etc. Expect crossovers and seasonal items too.

Sounds worse. But it seems it’s true since more and more people come to Halo since Halo 5 and MCC, but never really played Halo 3 and Reach back in the old days.
This is a logical development from becoming a live service game (no rant). I’m in the weird spot that I’m an old school halo player that likes modern game play, so I love for example H5’s multiplayer but visually I still like to just see lore-explainable Spartans and skins.
I must say the armour from S8 is impressive work and I think it will make many players very happy as a proof of future customisation options in Infinite (and attract a lot of fresh blood) but I really hope there will be some toggle options for players like me.
Customisation won’t affect the quality of infinite’s multiplayer but I would like some time to get used to the idea that visually a future halo match will be between samurai, knights, vikings and whatever in rainbow colours with probably floating hearts and exploding in confetti.

Yes, just as I mentioned it - it may look cool but has nothing to dp with Halo at all
Totally agree with you. Those armorpieces look like they can belong in any game, but not in Halo.
I hope 343 will become creative when it comes to armor. The plans to keep this game alive for 10 years is great, so I’m expecting a lot of creativity when it comes to armor.
But the armors shown in the link are just so out of touch with Halo… A big no from my part.
Meh, it doesn’t bother me too much what people wear in multiplayer matches. To each their own. The only time it would irk me is if there was some new version of Spartan Ops or something like that which took a page from Reach’s campaign and showed our armor in cutscenes. If I used matchmaking for it and the people I played with were using these, it would definitely take me out of the story experience a bit.
I love the new armour style, I think having these ancient style helmets in Spartan design with metal and visors is really interesting. I could imagine some Spartans running custom helmets that work as they require them to, but also to strike fear into their enemies. Emile scratched his own skull in, maybe some newer Spartans took this to the next level inspired by the Spartans of the past.
The grunts whisper of a Spartan who is said to resemble a lion. The way he finishes a foe makes them pray for the Demon Spartan-117 instead, a much more merciful death.
I’m on the opposite side of the fence here for sure; I absolutely love the Season 8 armor and can’t wait for more stuff like this in Infinite. I’ve been playing Halo since we had to use XBC to play Halo: CE online, I just love stuff like this. It’s Halo, not a space simulation.

I disagree with having nothing to do with Halo. Some of the armors seem to be designed with ancient greek aesthetics when actual Spartans existed. Considering that is where the futuristic Halo spartans get their namesake and this season is called Mythic, I view it as the history of warriors that inspired the current generation of warriors. I think design-wise they look great. With that being said, I will more than likely toggle these off as I prefer the classic Halo look. I am happy that players have more options in the game if they want to use them though.
Don’t be daft, right now Microsoft and 343i are sealing crossover deals for all kinds of wacky armour types. It’s how they keep the kids engaged, who cares about the Lore they’ve added in to multiplayer because here comes a Crash Bandicoot helmet and armour coating OMG! OMG! OMG!

If it stops Halo crumbling to ash and reinvigorates the community then I’m all for it. Not too long ago before crossplay was introduced, I played the same people almost every game when searching Team Snipers and it was extremely competitive. It is still difficult to get games in some playlists and games. Having more people in the game is extremely helpful to securing more enjoyable games for everyone.

I mean, I know plenty of people disagree with me on this but I always thought introducing lore justification for multiplayer was kind of dumb and unnecessary anyway. I don’t care what kind of backstory you come up with for it, there’s no reason Spartans in training would be spending their time playing grifball or splasers or any of the other wacky mp modes.
Sure, it makes sense for something like Spartan Ops that’s technically multiplayer, but just let standard multiplayer be multiplayer. Not everything needs a lore justification.

But, Hayabusa technically wasn’t a lore friendly thing and everyone loved it. Am I missing something here???
Wait…those are real armors in mcc?..looks like its from an entirely different game. Maybe they’ve run out of ideas? There’s only so many helmets that you can design but…man idk lol

Some people will always hate change. If the changes lose them, but bring in three players in their place then that works well for the game and that’s how the company will continue.
I’m sad when a game evolves outside of my enjoyment zone, but luckily we have a plethora of high quality games to play instead if that happens. It’s sad to say goodbye to something we loved and don’t want to lose, but there’s nothing we can do about it but move on. I just wish some people would move on, instead of holding on for dear life and complaining about everything.
I love Overwatch, but absolutely hate their direction for Overwatch 2. I’m not posting on the forums and criticising everything. I’m leaving it be and I’ll just not play it unless I see something in the future that makes me reconsider it.
If I hated the Halo Infinite flight, I would most definitely be putting my energy into another multiplayer game.

That’s just incorrect. These are literally from Alternate Halo universes. Basically, it’s a different Halo, they want to show us.
We’ve been dealing with weird cosmetics ever since Reach. It’s like people forget about Inclement Weather, Pestilence, the hearts one, and Spartans that explode in confetti when they die.
But yeah it literally has stuff to do with Halo. It isn’t even remotely unrelated.

You are not missing anything. They integrated Hayabusa into the lore as, some kind of MJOLNIR competitor, but it literally only existed because a Spartan was in Dead or Alive 4.
