for those of you guys talking about bloom being bad, how should the DMR mechanics work
remember the DMR with 0 bloom is damn to accurate.

A precision weapon being accurate?
Blasphemy!
well the dmr in H4 supposedly has a fixed ROF so i doubt bloom is gonna matter, so why they’ve even bothered adding it i don’t know

The DMR should have no bloom, a tiny bit of recoil, and a set RoF
And the ZB Bloom isn’t “too accurate”, Reach’s default movement speed is just awful. The ZB DMR is far from easy to use in MLG settings. And considering H4’s amazing looking strafing and movement in general it will be far from easy to use.
Likely, bloom is just an animated reticule instead of actual bloom. It is probably just a tool to show the player when the weapon can be fired again.
The play tester said it resets much faster than Reach’s, and it didn’t cause him to miss nearly as much.
Every gun experiences recoil. Precession based guns like DMR are more prone to Barrel Wobble (Bloom).Reach didn’t exactly do a good job with it.

just decrease the autoaim and lower the rate of fire. it doesnt need bloom or recoil to be balanced…
thats what was done CE-3,
Why the hell does the DMR have bloom and the BR doesn’t? Technically the BR should have a faster expanding bloom then the DMR since it’s burst firing 3 shots in rapid succession. It would be a nice contrast, the DMR has less bloom but is single shot and the BR has more bloom but fires 3 shots.
The only reason is because the self-titled “pro” players will have a field day spamming the forums with complaints.

im super impressed about your knowledge of how real guns from 500+ years in the future work.
guns get less and less influenced by recoil every year in modern times, now take 500+ years of innovation, a built in firing computer on mjolnir, and highly trained mechanically assisted spartans and bloom or recoil make 0 sense.
stop tryign to rationalize an irrational game mechanic that makes zero sense cannonically

umm bloom is recoil

LOL. I’m not a gun expert but I brought it up because the DMR is a precession gun. I’m not serious about something a fictional as a video game and on a forum. Everyone know you can’t defend your self on the internet.

And that’s what I would like to believe but too many people believe other wise. Really don’t care anymore.

what is a precession gun? Is it something similar to a precision gun?

The current DMR has a fixed RoF… what’s your point?

Like I said I’m no expert but I know a pretty good amount. Precision guns would be like a real life Battle Rifle or a sniper rifle. Obviously Halo is fiction and who knows what guns will be like 500+, heck if we’re still using them. The bloom feature is just purely is a game mechanic and I’m not trying to justify anything I’m just trying to make people think and at the same time accept criticism.
I like TU bloom.

NO!
Recoil is forces causing your gun’s barrel to shift, causing your next shot to go in the new point of aim.
Bloom is aiming at the same spot but hitting around it.
With recoil, you don’t have to wait to regain accuracy. You just have to correct your aim by the next time you shoot.
With bloom, your aim magically corrects itself after a ridiculously long time.
Recoil>>>>>>>Bloom

Like the sniper in reach?
