I think the commando is dog do do the damage needs a little buff and there shouldn’t be any recoil at all in the commando u can’t make barely any shots hit the target let alone the head with this stupid recoil
I don’t mind the recoil, but the bloom needs to go. I honestly think it would shred if nothing else was changed, but as is the commando stays on the wall.
What are u talking about it’s supposed to be a mid to long range rifle the recoil is the problem not the bloom u know what just go try to use the commando in multiplayer and u will see what I’m talking about
I think the recoil and bloom would be ok if the weapon had a much larger clip. It seems to be a machinegun (LMG?). It should be belt-fed or have at least 50 bullets in a magazine like real-life counterparts. Then the recoil and bloom would mean this is a weapon you can use for suppressive fire, not a precise weapon. Currently, the small mag means you have to fire it in a short burst like a pseudo-precision weapon with too little damage to outcompete any other weapon.
It is a precision weapon which is y it shouldn’t have recoil at all make no recoil and add a bigger clip
With you being a “HaloPro”, you shouldn’t have any difficulty
They should decide.
- If it’s a precision weapon - remove or greatly reduce bloom, lower recoil. The clip is ok if it’s precision. Bullets could do more damage. Then it’s a mid-long range precision weapon.
- If it’s an LMG-like machinegun - leave bloom and recoil. Increase clip to ~50 bullets and make max 200 bullets in pockets. Bullets could pack more punch too - at the longer range, they are spread widely, but at a lower range they’re deadly. That makes it a support weapon capable of suppressive fire (something currently almost no weapon does, with exception of maybe Ravager, but it works very differently so there is a niche) capable of covering bigger areas with spraying fire - just like IRL machineguns can do.
Right now it’s a mix of features that doesn’t work well except for a few specific situations but mostly is outcompeted by pretty much any other weapon.
Back during the flight I prefered the commando over the BR, but they nerfed it once November came. It does need a straight damage buff.
Honestly most guns need a slight buff in general so there is some true balance.
As much as I used to chafe when it comes to the Commando…I’ve come to like it.
I loved it during the Flight. I preferred picking it up over the BR but I never found it to be that much more powerful. I just liked the design and feel of the weapon over the BR.
Launch comes and they added an extra bullet to kill while doing something else - I forget what.
Didn’t like it, would always complain about its current state and want it switched back to how it was during the Flight. And while I still believe in that…after a while of acquainting myself with it and the changes I’ve just come to like it again. It’s still a very viable upgrade over the Sidekick for mid-long range and while I think the BR remains a better weapon in terms of handling - much easier and smoother to adapt and compensate for the different ranges you find yourself in -, the Commando is still a rather good weapon.
With tap-firing at range, its still really good at killing at distances once you’ve adapted to the rhythm and when it comes to close range you do have the potential of completely shredding players in the body and then using the recoil to ride into the headshot if you’re skilled/lucky enough. While I wish the Commando would still be switched back to how it was in the Flight, how it is now…I’ve adapted to it and come to like it again. I’ll always pick it up from the wall when I see it.

the commando can be really good but only if you fire it in 2-4 round bursts, and have no desync
Yes when mid or close range but long range the recoil is stupid

I have little issue with the Commando. Many of my Perfect Medals I have earned have come from the Commando. It’s not a long range automatic weapon; you single fire the sucker. Close to mid-range? Commando is better than the AR. The Commando has a slightly shorter TTK than the AR and BR if you hit your shots. The only issue I have is, the Commando seems to be a more precise weapon than a BR and Sidekick. There is a tiny wiggle room with the sidekick and BR when it comes to hitbox registering. But the Commando? The reticle needs to be on the player for any shot to count.
