So I had the same idea for Halo 4, and I’m going to mention this again. How about we have the ability to unlock some ribbons, and awards for our Spartan. These would be little things that we can add to our armor. Such as the Legendary symbol on this Spartan IV’s biceps, or the UNSC bar code on the lower back. These could be unlocks for completing campaign, or attach them to the challenge system that is already in place. I think that this would be a great addition and it would be very subtle, as long as there are a limited about of ribbons and awards that we can use at a time, and they would have to be rather small.
I like it. A little flair, but nothing too over the top like armour effects.
So nobody else has any input on this? 
It’s a good idea and all, but you don’t wear ribbons on combat armor.
True, but you still receive them, and it would be interesting if you could add to your combat armor.
What about having a Showcase? It could be accessed from the service record, you can put there some “ribbons & medals”. You can put things there you’re proud to achieved. Like a combination of Halo 3 service record’s bottom (where were “Spartan Officer” or “Campaign Completed” etc…) and the file share system.
Gears of War much? I like Halo and I like Gears but now your asking for a Halo/CoD/GoW multiplayer? Or do i misunderstand?
No I’m taking this from real life. Ribbons and Awards are awarded for multiple things. Ribbons are more of a set thing (AAM, Army Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, etc) and Awards are given based on exceeding “the standard.”
I don’t want the Award/Ribbon system to look anything like Gears. Although I do like idea of a showcase for them. Anyone think the Spartans should get a service uniform!
