This really needs to be an option. In H3 I would be forced to play on terrible foreign host almost all the time when I played against foreigners and its really bad whether it would be austrailian, Italy, France, or UK host and so on. Now Im not trying to be racist at all but its really unfair because the host team would be feeling like their playing on lan while the other team would be lagging and their shots not registering. If H4 doesnt have good netcode/servers please at least let us be able to search by region.

I’m assuming you mean having a “my same region” option under searching preferences, such as “my own language” and “good connection”? Couldn’t hurt. I’ve never specifically encountered this problem, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea at all to include this with the other matchmaking preferences. Good idea, OP.

With a better netcode it would be fine
Also people that are foreign do not like playing on other host its, a lose lose for everyone
This would be cool but I think smaller places might have a had time finding games, depending on the playlist – ie Ranked Team slayer would takes for ever or just not work…

I loled at this, because I don’t want to play them either. They have a terrible host, but since I upgraded my inet, I have mostly host and that in germany!
You have to know, germany is really slow in evolving it’s inet network…
OT: It would be very cool, because I hate to play against South American or Latin American’s. The game is just lagging and people are teleporting all over the map. It’s really frustrating.

No, I point blank refuse to play!!!
In my experience, they not only hve the worst lag I’ve EVER come across, but they also seem to be the worst sort of people to game with in general.
This isn’t me being racist against the French, I LOVE France. I’ve just noticed the trend personally.

There realy needs to be a lot of players online for it to work 100%, 100k online is not that many fo it to work flawless.
MW3 has added this search function in a update and some countrys cant find matches due to so few playing from their country. If they use P2P hosting the only way to remove moste of the lagg is actualy to give host to the player with best upload and ping, but due to this stupid host history stuff developed by MS and used in Halo results in many bad Host’s.
Take my buddy as an exampel he has 90 Mb up but he cant get host in Halo due to his xbox havent recorded any host matchmaking games to determine if his connection is good to be the host, so players with say 5Mb up and many host history games gets host instead of him. This is basicly why there are so many red-yellow bar games in Rech and Blackscreen’s, the game simply dont know how to select the best host most of the time due to the stupid host history crap.
Searching by language and good connection still pairs me up with foreigners sometimes. Searching by Region would be much better because your playing with people in your area.
Oh god yes yes yes yes yes yes. I wanted this since halo 2.
I would be so happy if I didnt have to match up with foreigners ever again.
