Abilities have got to go

We need to get back to a game where every player spawns exactly the same and the only things that decides the outcome of the game are team work and player skill.

You’re late to the party…

Which can be achieved with Armor Abilities too.

Exactly. I think many of those who don’t like Armor Abilities is because they can’t use them or get pwned with them. I was an average player in Halo 3. In Reach I’ve become an above average player for certain. In part due to abilities. I think it takes MORE skill to master abilities and still get high kills counts and go positive than it does without.

I don’t expect all of the AAs to be in Halo 4. I’d be happy with Sprint and Jetpack. The rest can be equipment or not at all (Armor Lock I’m looking at you).

I think your looking for the MLG playlist on Reach or your Halo 3 disk

They have classic playlists for that, let everybody else have their fun too.

Better late than never.

this topic is SOOOOOOOOO overused it would have been better never

Well I think evade, sprint, and jetpack should stay.

No it needs more people to say it actually does matter, otherwise they wont notice.
Most posts I see on here are people begging for scarabs in forge.

I dont want Halo 4 to be anything like Reach.

Sprint has to stay. It’s the best new addition to Halo sinse MM.

Agreed and if anyone doesn’t like it come Halo 4, well go back to Halo Reach for AA fixes. God it’s going to feel good to say that to whiners. Sorry if i am being a cruel, being told go back to Halo 3 tends to sour your attitude towards some fellow forum users.

Though i have to think realistically of course. 343 is obviously going to bring back the concept in some for or another.

Doesn’t even matter; AA’s were just too controversial. They could even be done what would be considered “right” by some people, but it was all just too controversial in Reach.

.

I think AA and Loadouts should stay in custom games and possible community playlists. No reason to remove it. People make awesome gametypes with loadouts and AA.
AA is just an equipment(Halo 3) that is recharged. I dont want loadouts and rechargable equipment in the standard Halo 4 playlists, but I wouldnt mind if it was an option in custom games.

Load-outs are the problem. Not amor abilities.

Not that I disagree with you, but the EXACT SAME argument could be made for people who whine about AAs.

E.G, “If anyone doesn’t like it come Halo 4, well, go back to Halo 3 for no AAs.”

I don’t understand why. I’m not a complete fan, but abilities add more diversity to the game. A larger sandbox, and more possibilities to custom games. Even the terrible Jet pack and Armor Lock can make the game interesting, especially if you overcome the obstacle with your own abilities and skill.

The main problem with armour abilities is that it shrunk maps with sprint, evade and jet pack. It also could interrupt gameplay (armour lock stopping it and invisiblity causing you to search a spot for half the game looking for the player in the maze of dots) drop shield everyone was used to the bubble sheild so that wasnt so bad but got removed due to spamming of bubbles :frowning: hologram also a nice tactical AA but was too easy to tell the difference between player and hologram. Personally I like armour abilities but some could be done without or lose a function.

Sprint - stay is forever useful
Evade - prefer this to sprint and is a nice alternative
Invisibility - lose radar jamming function as mention before you are invisible if you don’t want to be spotted on the radar CROUCH
Drop Sheild - should really be equipment or pick up only
Jet pack - I don’t really like it can destroy the setup of a map but then again i dont really want it gone maybe pick up only as well or as load out in gametypes like invasion
Hologram- I think i should stay but the hologram should be more realistic no flashing, no making funny noise and the ability to stop bullets.
Armour Lock - just go already…

But its a with or with out game you need to design a map with them or with out them.

You’re preaching to the choir, my friend.
