Wait… did they completely forget about the game… I mean Spartan ops wasn’t great but it does have to come back for a second season… what happened to constantly fresh and new weekly content. It’s not like they ran out of money. Seriously no map remakes other than valhalla and that looked like a Gaussian Blur.
They really should have continued Spartan Ops.
Spartan Ops at least got people to stick around and discuss the game even if they hated the multiplayer.
The majority of 343i is probably working on Halo 5 and doesn’t care much at all about Halo 4 anymore. Does it suck? Yes, but they’ve made up their mind at this point and unless something changes they’ve jumped ship hoping to make the next one much better.
New Spartan Ops episodes was probably the only reason why I would play Halo 4 at 6:00AM(EST)in the morning of every Mondays.
I didn’t even finish Spartan Ops. It got so repetitive and boring.
> I didn’t even finish Spartan Ops. It got so repetitive and boring.
But… But pushing buttons on the exact same missions over and over is so much FUN!
No but really, it had a few good missions in the end.

And this is why I won’t buy another product from 343.
Next thing you know Halo 5 is gonna go like 4 did and what will they do? They jump to 6 and so on. It’s a really bad habit.
Very very unprofessional.
I don’t see why or how 343i should continue supporting Halo 4 right now.
> I don’t see why or how 343i should continue supporting Halo 4 right now.
Why: To make players fell assured that the Developer cares about its consumers, supporters, and the game itself.
How: Fix the countless issues with the game that have been so far completely neglected by 343i.

In the end? As in, the last few missions had good stuff about them? Even if that is true, forcing the player to spend hours doing the mundane in the hope that it will eventually be fun isn’t good game design. See Final Fantasy 13.
Hell, I once made a comment of a Spartan Ops mission that I thought up that got a lot of likes because of how fun it sounded.
They are not abandoning Halo 4. They still release weekly matchmaking updates to help better the multiplayer experience, and I’m sure they have something under their sleeve for the future of Halo 4 matchmaking.
> I don’t see why or how 343i should continue supporting Halo 4 right now.
Because supporting Halo 4 would be the respectable thing to do and as for how, Spartan Ops and new maps.
NOT putting weapon skins in -Yoinking!- toys.

Dude, that is not unprofessional at all. Halo 4 is barely going to make any money now compared to what it will have made in the months after launch, of course they can’t afford to be dedicating the majority of their staff to it. They’d just be -Yoink!- money away.

The ‘respectable’ thing for a captain to do is go down with the ship, but ya know, once everyone else is off safely, he should probably hop on the next lifeboat home. They could do the ‘respectable’ thing of spending $100,000s on developers to expand a game for free that we have all already paid for. Or you know, they could do what every other company in the world does and try to make their next venture as appealing to its audience as possible.
Reconsidering, 343i actually do seem to be doing something for Halo 4 now, rather than nothing like before.
We’ve had a Weapon update, some maps were changed for the better (Longbow) (Although respawn times for weapons/vehciles are a major issue…), and we’re getting some new Flood gametypes and maps, and also Big team Skirmish (reserving thoughts on it, until I know exactly whats in it)
So they are giving us new stuff atm!
P.S. Maybe Spartan Ops 2 will just be on Halo 5, because by the time they do another season, Halo 5 release will be just around the corner?
Spartan OPS was great because of the story and Cinematic were phenomenal.
We finally got to see some near live action halo.
actual Spartans using the weapons and AA’s.
They did all the work to develop the near live action animations.
So that money is spent.
How much can it possibly cost for another 100-120 min’s of it. And playable episodes? 500K, 1 mil? 2 mil?
They could run advertising before each cinematic episode. 15 seconds or 30 seconds.
Or charge $4 for the entire Season 2 package.
It would recoup some money.
They had to net nearly 1 billion so far on Halo 4 properties.
They are rolling out a 500K FFA tournament.
It’s really sad that spartan ops was to be this big deal and they won’t even say if a season 2 is coming.
It’s called credibility.

I would not be impressed if there is no Season 2 SpOps - simply because naming something Season 1, implied when we bought the game that there’d be more than 1 season. I’m confident for that reason alone they’ll deliver a S2 though.
It makes no sense to leave it alone. They just left it with Catherine wanting revenge and I MUST see that!
Spartan ops sucked really bad, they really missed the mark on that one. I would prefer they DIDN’T waste time on something like that for the rest of halo 4.
It is widely speculated that Season 2 is probably going to show up in halo 5, not halo 4. Hopefully, and God do I really mean hopefully, they learned from the first season’s mistakes and make the second season, you know, enjoyable.
I would prefer they continue to support Halo 4 with extra content, tweaks to the multiplayer gameplay and playlists, additional forge maps, weapon skins, etc. Which they have all been doing so far. As for why people are saying 343 abandoned halo 4 I am scratching my head on that one, do you really already not remember the overhaul we just got not that long ago to matchmaking? It will be some time before they roll out anything else signficantly sized. Most recently we got the mini slayer type. 343 will continue to do little things like this, stop griping over nothing.
If you mean more map packs, just no. We hardly get to play the ones that people already bought

So wait do you like fire fight or not, cause that also got boring in Reach.
> I don’t see why or how 343i should continue supporting Halo 4 right now.
Because people are paying for their content still, are expected to keep supporting the game as long as they can.
