I am not trolling. However, I would like to start to say that AAs and Equipment should make an appearance in Halo 4. ONLY in exclusive playlists and Custom Games though. Both AAs and Equipment brought alot of options for Custom Games and very unique games were made with these things. Please, I do not want to see this excluded from the game as it will just limit our options to Halo.
To matchmaking, this will have to be used in a careful manner. We already have tons of people who do not feel Reach was in anyway Halo because of AAs but AAs should be vastly improved to build a Class-Based System only for certain playlists. Do not get me wrong I love Halo 1-3 as it was but it would be nice to switch to different modes of play if these were put in certain playlists.
With “Loadouts 2.0” think of many games with classes like Section 8, Day of Defeat, Killing Floor, Nuclear Dawn, blah blah blah, EVEN COD/BF3. These games have Classes and it would be interested to have a more improved, diverse, and expanded Loadout System. I might have not used the best examples but they came up in the 10 second duration I was thinking of games. With the Loadout System now we can group with friends and each one of us can setup our roles in the lobby so we can prepare ourselves in the battlefield.
I know alot of you guys do not like Loadouts, but that shouldn’t mean 343 should remove them completely. If placed in only a few playlists you guys do not need to play those playlists. Please actually read the post. The Loadouts are going to be limited in Matchmaking but seriously needs to be placed in Customs. Plus, I do not wanna play Halo with loadouts all the time but it would be nice to actually switch to some “Reach” but also classic Halo…

BLEH!
I think most of the community already hate Loadouts, but allowing you to make custom Loadouts for matchmaking? GOD NO! GOD FKING NO! Halo has always been about everyone starting off the same and branching out depending on your skill and your luck. Halo must NOT go mainstream and follow that stupid unfair system that most FPSs have these days, because it is one of the last pure and balanced shooters out there. Loadouts are so terrible right now, but customization would make Halo 4 loose the few faithful fans that it’s got (in terms of multiplayer). If you want to customize your weapons and create an unfair situation for new players or players that don’t want to play like aholes by spawing with Rockets, Armor Lock and 4 plasma grenades (hypothetically). Terrible idea! There are no work arounds and there should not even be a “separate playlist”.

I agree with everything that run and shai has said. Halo has always been (besides Reach) and should always be a game that has a standard movement speed for all players. This means that there should be no sprint, but a constant speed.
And I 1000% agree with what he said in this part of his post “Halo must NOT go mainstream and follow that stupid unfair system that most FPSs have these days, because it is one of the last pure and balanced shooters out there.” The reason why Halo was popular was because it was different than any other game. It should still be like that.
A class like system did appear in Reach, through the invasion game type. It really is an example of a type of Halo gameplay that should come to the forefront. The AA’s and Weapons are amazingly balanced out to promote a full use of the sandbox through the stages and it really is a sign of the way Halo should go in my eyes for objective game types.
It’s a system that would likely work best in Invasion overall for the way it is built up. But with 343 plodding along doing whatever they please, it’s unlikley that Invasion will come back; leaving a mass of good changes to the franchise to rot until Halo 5.
If loadouts come back, Tough; I never liked Dual wielding and that wormed it’s way into two games. Everyone has their own preferences and Class based gametypes wouldn’t make everyone implode into a black hole.
And besides, Halo is about as Mainstream as it gets. Even more so with 343 coming about; Seeing as they’ve been making what i think to be moronic canon changes.
Armor Abilities should return, but with some adjusting.
Sprint should be a built in feature, not a pick up ability. There can be gametypes where Armor Abilities/Equipment are pick up and others where they’re loadouts.
But sadly, AA haters just want a better looking Halo 3. They don’t want Jetpacks, sprint, or anything that makes Halo fun and unique.
Armor abilities do not create “classes” because reach’s loadouts do not carry specialized weapons. The only way your loadout can really give you an advantage over an enemy is if you pick up a power weapon (which gives you an advantage anyway)(such as av cam and a sniper rifle). The powers of all AA are balanced against each other so no one has unfair advantage in every situation. True, Armor lock gives you an advantage over a jetpacker equipped with a rocket launcher but it also gives you an extreme disadvantage when traversing an open area covered by enemy snipers. I admit that reaches loadout/AA system was not perfect but the system could be made to work and please everyone if implemented correctly in halo 4.

THANK YOU. I have felt AAs needed work, Sprint should be automatic but with an option to enable/disable… But AAs and Equipment should only be for a FEW playlists and should never be left out…

No no no, thank YOU. AAs weren’t perfect, but were great. They just need some adjusting and work. It seems AA haters can’t understand this. They’re too caught up with a game from 5 years ago and never got over it. If AAs weren’t loadouts in Reach, I bet they wouldn’t be complaining one bit.
There’s no bloom game types, so there can be no AA game types in Halo 4. There’s arelady game types like this in Reach. But it seems AA haters don’t want AAs in ANY playlist, especially the ones they’re not playing.

How is sprint unique? Just about every shooter has it these days. If sprint will be in Halo 4, that would mean quite the opposite of Halo “being unique”- but would show that Halo is desperately trying to follow other more successful games at the price of its uniqueness.
Sprint is not a good feature, anyway, changes the whole sandbox to fit around it, making a very slow paced game. I do always use it, though, and if AAs are t return (I kind of liked them- NO ARMOR LOCK AND NO LOADOUTS PLEASE) than maybe they can find a suitable replacement for Sprint that manages to keeps the rest of the game fast paces like previous Halos.

Most AA haters don’t play BTB or Invasion. AA’s are practically essentials for these gametypes. They really help out and make it much more fun and unique.

I never needed sprint or AA’s in BTB Halo 3 so why should it be essential now? BTB Halo 3 > Derp Reach BTB

I have to agree with Mystical Gaming here. It’s probably because Halo 3 had some of the best BTB maps ever, and lets face it- Reach’s BTB maps sucked, but still, he’s right.
I can take all the other BS why sprint supposedly is so good, but saying that’s unique really makes you look plain dumb.
Sprint is horrible, but it seems that 343 plans to stick with it which really goes to show how serious they were about going back to core gameplay. Thank you 343, for letting me know in one sentence that H4’s multiplayer will be horrific.
And for the love of God, please don’t say that good players only want a H3 replica, it makes you look more limited than you probably are.
btw:invasion is “rush” from battlefield, nothing else,it should not return in halo 4
you have to plant 2 bombs,if you did that the map gets bigger and you can enter more parts of the map,the other team has to defend their “bases”.you can spawn next to your teammate/you can choose your spawn.sounds like rush from bf3 doesnt it? the only thing bungie added was that you have to steal the core and get it to the pelican/phantom
