This game is unplayable. Thought I’d try new event. Two matches I get ping spikes going up to 150 ms. I have no problem in other games, Halo Infinite is the exception. Rubberbanding and lagging non stop. Fix your -Yoink!- game.
The last few days I get 100% packet loss on the Xbox, Nat is open, latency is low. No other computer or device has any loss. Never had packet loss before. I’m on fibre, gig, up, and down.
Dunno what happened today but the game is… Flawless almost, really, the hit detection is instant like playing on Academy mode vs bots, it’s THAT good. It’s basically a totally different game today compared to whole past year, so I don’t know if something has been updated within the game or on the servers side, but fingers crossed the game continues to play at least half as good as it is today.
It’s terrible, ping feels fake as well. I had a game that started at 70 ping for a couple of minutes and then suddenly dropped to 20 but shots still felt like a 100+ ping delay.
I have never had any issues since launch until today. Normally float between 20-29ms but now I’m at 60-130 and constantly bouncing back and forth.
“Servers cost money.”
Open those pockets boyo.
Im from Australia I had 5 matches on 12ms then all of the sudden I’m in a server with 256ms with Unstable Latency, really missing the option to opt out of servers like MCC
I loaded into a match with local matchmaking set, thinking I’m good with 20ms ping, no expanded region matchmaking. But then players are rubberbanding and ping spikes to 200 ms/unstable latency and packet loss warnings.
Microsoft can probably afford to run Halo Infinite as a loss leader if they were smart about it.
Do you really believe that? With Desync issues, Disconnections, Custom Games area is still broken, forge issues just to mentioned a few issues WOW! what game are you playing?
A whole paragraph written that doesn’t even contribute to the OP’s post as well, desync and lag spikes just on Infinite are common-place, definitely an issue with the game.
I’ve also noticed that when you get into combat with players the ping can increase by at least x2, weird.
They seem to be solid when you get good servers. Not a single game felt too off yesterday, although I had a few issues during the game. Got jacked twice as I was boosting in a ghost towards a person, instead of splattering them which was incredibly lame for instance. The only bad game I had out of the bunch was one where I was filling in for a person who quit, and then I proceeded to get killed seconds after respawning in a BTB map till the match ended with only getting like 1 or 2 kills.
Player from the American Midwest here.
My last few matches have been actually pretty solid. I am starting to think that the American servers have a priority to this game; since my Australian/New Zealand friends seem to have issues with connection all the time; especially when playing custom games.
At least that is how it was when I last played Infinite with my buddies down-undah.
But my last few matches where I solo-queued were pretty solid when it came to connection.
My main issues is that this game still does not enforce that all players in the match have the same control input.
Namely because it seems I got unlucky one of my games and all the enemy players were using M&K while my team only seemed to have one M&K user.
My issue with Mouse-&-Keyboard vs. Controller users?
Halo’s joystick control speeds are slow compared to pretty much every other triple-A first-person-shooter experience out there.
It is jarring to swap between Rainbow Six: Siege or CoD Modern Warfare II’s quick and smooth controls and then be playing Halo 5 and Infinite’s slow controls.
And it feels vertigo inducing when going in the reverse, getting used to the slower camera controls of Halo and them moving to a game where my settings are swift and speedy.
I think one of the next major issues to tackle NEEDS to be enforcing that all players in the match are using the same control input. I don’t mind crossplay between Console and PC. I do mind some players being able to spin much faster than a controller player can at max settings.
Yea!!! I agree. I don’t have 1/10th of the server issues on my Battlefield 2042 server that Halo Infinite servers has. It’s a shame!
We’re having the same exact issue on our Series X. I think there’s a backbone routing problem with XBL in some regional areas. I’m in Central OH. Curious where you’re located? I’m also on 1Gbps Fiber with Windstream.
Unfortunately I think Warzone 2.0 on MW2 takes the cake on this one.
I am in Canada, Vancouver BC., also on Fibre, GIG up, and down.
Feeling the same thing - previously I had a few minor desync issues, but with this event I’m finding it totally unplayable.
Are they really just cheaping out on servers? Or is the population that small?
This is just another reason why we need our own Dedicated Server Software so we can host our own servers so we dont have to put up with crappy MS GAME SERVERS!!!
I’ve stopped playing Halo infinite for a few months now; but I’ve always wondered if the connection issues are related to servers, or desync attributed to bad code.
Maybe a bit of both? I’m assuming Gears of war 4/5 also used Azure Servers; and they had notorious lag spikes for me as well.
