So I recently thought of an idea regarding Armor abilites. What if AAs had a certain kill requirement for you to be able to use them? You’d spawn with an Armor ability like normal, and have to get a certain number of kills to turn on AA usuage.
Here’s an example
You’re at the beginning of a match. Currently, your AA symbol is a faded blue on your hud. Lets say the kill requirement is 2 or 3 kills. You get the 2 kills. The AA symbol turns a solid blue. You are now eligible to turn on your ability. You have to tap the AA usuage button once to do so. Once you hit the button your AA will be usable for x amount of time. Lets say 15 seconds. Your HUd shows a green ring around the aa symbol to signify that its active. During the 15 seconds of activation, you can use your AA to your hearts content. Take note that individual AA recharge times still apply. When the 15 seconds is up, The AA becomes unusable until you get another two kills. Dying before getting the 2 kills would reset the counter to 0.
With a system like this, it is to be noted that certain abilities with long recharge times, such as regen field, would only be usale once during each 15 second AA activation time period…thing.
I think something like this kind of combines equipment and AAs. You always have the abilities attached to your spartan like normal AAs, but the kill requirement forces you to time its usage, something you also have to do with equipment. The reason I thought up this idea was because I was thinking about how AAs are ordnance in throwdown. Its a neat idea, but calling down an AA that cant be retrieved afterwards doesnt seem appealing to me. So in my eyes, this would be an ideal upgrade from that. Its a way to keep AAs while adding a bit more competitiveness to them.
