It makes automatic weapons viable at mid range, and with descope, it means that BR will smash an AR at mid-long range while still breaking even up close.
Can we stop pretending ADS is bad for Halo?
Completely true. If you can’t see this you must be one of the kids receiving packets at school instead of an education.
I went to Bishop Alemany, a private school.
I didn’t get packets I got an education.
ADS is ADS. The spread is even effected so… IT’S ADS!!!

Not just for the sake of change it clearly attracts new player and
like it or not as a DEV thats a good thing. If someone says HEY I can play halo like its COD while we know they are playing it wrong and they will realize this after meeting with trustt Descope that’s its a -Yoink!- hybrid

Ok, will do.

But there’s no pretending involved there. It IS a bad thing for Halo.

it worked fine in the early access. + with descope in the game, it makes no difference if it improves spread or not.
SS worked and looked fine in early access and didnt at all feel out of place in Halo
- ADS slows movement speed etc. SS does not, they work completely differently, SS is just the same classic Zoom were used too with a new look, yes it improves SMG/AR spread, but it nicely balanced with descope.

Since when?

This. So very much.
It’s not even ADS in the way that everyone is making it out to be. And there’s descoping. Meaning it’s completely worthless if you’re being shot. Does COD have descoping? Oh yeah, IT DOESN’T.
I for one think Halo 5 looks like one of the best versions of the game yet. ADS makes perfect sense when implemented in exactly this way, and clamber is something that should be in every FPS, period. Anyone who complains about Halo evolving needs to wake up and realize that the game has to change over time, and it appears to be changing for the better. What is most people’s number one complaint about COD? That it never changes and they sell basically the same game every year. If Halo had never evolved past Halo 2, people would be saying the same thing about it as they do COD and nobody would be buying it.
Good change is good. I see very little that I am unhappy with so far.

That thinking did the series a world of good with Halo 4. 343i needs to stop chasing fans.

Actually it makes less sense, before our view shifts and basically becomes “the scope” itself and now most weapons are moved towards your face in order to aim, while your HUD displays some fancy virtual data. What seems better?
The very fact that it improves accuracy (even if its marginal) on automatics means the feature is far more than descope with a new makeover…
It’s a flashy alternative to descope that clutters up the screen even more (DMR scope).
It isn’t like COD’s ADS where movement speed is slowed down, but apart from that difference the two are one and the same in my opinion.
It’s not like in other games. Hip fire is firing the weapon from the hip. In Halo, the weapon is always shouldered and as such, calling it hip fire is inaccurate. When you use the optic in Halo, the weapon is already shouldered and the user only moves his/her head behind the optic, whilst in other games, the weapon is moved from the hip, shouldered and then the head is positioned behind the optic. Saying it’s hip fire vs ADS isn’t the correct definition for Halo. Using optics in the Halo universe isn’t always needed as opposed to games set in our age. In Halo, all UNSC personell have their weapons linked to an implant giving them the reticle which means they only need to shoulder the weapon to counter act the recoil. It gives the same result as a modern soldier using his optic.
IT IS AESTHETICALLY DIFFERENT TO OLD ZOOM, BUT IT WORKS EXACTLY THE SAME. AND TO THOSE WHO SAY THAT IT AFFECTS BULLET SPREAD: IT DID THE SAME IN HALO 3.

No it is not. You can scope and remain scoped while firing the assault rifle, therefore it is not exactly the same.

So it’s aiming down the sights.

How does what it does in Halo 5 NOT make more sense than what we have now? That’s exactly how it is when you aim a real gun, with the addition of some futuristic HUD information.

THIS^^^ SOOOOO MUCH THIS! I’m playing a video game. Not a damn war sim. Nothing has to make sense in a -Yoink!- video game world. It plays damn fine, stop the stupid realism argument. If I want to shoot a real gun, I will go to the damn range and shoot one!
