A WORD OF CAUTION - Please Read

I understand the reception for Halo Infinite Demo is pretty split down the middle. Please do not let this divide the community. Please take a moment and compose and voice your concerns from a place of reason.

On the other side, please, if you are excited for the game, I am so happy for you, but please hear out the concerned fans.

Just please keep your concerns focused on the game and not directed towards anyone in the community or individuals at 343i (except maybe Frank O Conner jk)

I just hate how they said spiritual reboot and it clearly isn’t… They should have said from the start it’s a new experience in Halo. Typical 343 not being honest BUT I will say I am glad to see that it will be a new experience as that is what Halo has always been. Every game has played differently. Also like all Halo I saw good and bad things. I will save my real judgement after playing.

I agree. Honestly every game release on this forum has been summarized as a large amount of fans angry at the company rather than the actual game to the point where one can identify them as enemies. If we stated things constructively and blamed the problems, rather than the people, we could reach better consensuses.

I can agree that 343 has dropped the ball a bunch of times and it is fair to have your own opinion of their company but that seems more for reddit than their literal forum.

Overall this isn’t a new thing in the gaming community. I’ve been here since after Reach and the forums always get heated.

I think it just takes the narrative and concerns away from fans like me who want to see changes, for a more classic and competitive feel that the 343 titles I feel have severely lacked, and to fans who are genuinely excited and who love the new style, if everyone is just yelling at each other. It would be nice to find the balance in a constructive way.

In the end it’s really just a game, with one passionate fanbase but every individual has different preferences, I don’t want their concerns or praise drowned out by name calling and infighting.

I think they used the term a little loosely. Saying it was back to basics or something a little more ambiguous would have set the stage slightly better imo.

They are going back to the core ideas but I think the vast majority assumed they meant in terms of style and gameplay. To me it personally looks like the gunplay and graphics still look a lot like 5, but an evolution from that. Was hoping the rest of the art would match his retro armor. But to each their own! I know some people love it, and that’s great.

For me the most important thing is multiplayer, as long as they nail that it’s all good. I am cautiously optimistic

The community is already divided and has been for a long time, nothing can be done about that, it’s not anybodies fault but 343’s and that’s really not even a big jab at them, they changed the gameplay so much that now there are people who prefer the old style and people that prefer the new style, there is literally nothing they can do to make this right short of giving both groups of people their own games.

And no, MCC doesn’t count as that game.

When I heard spiritual reboot I was thinking it was going to be more like H2A in terms of game play and perhaps even art style. But it’s more of a H5 style game it seems. Poor choice of words on their part. But I feel it should probably stay modernish and leave classic Halo for MCC… Perhaps in Infinite multiplayer there will be a classic settings style playlist

I feel like if they made a multiplayer separated from the campaign, with the campaign having all the cool traversal options that the old fans hate, consolidated in there, with casual multiplayer and PvE modes with a separate, slow paced, classic style multiplayer with emphasis on competitiveness, it could work.

My feelings as well. hopefully they keep updating MCC and I would love if Infinite had classic options for the MP

That would be a nice show of courtesy, but remember, Classic fans like campaign too, so they’re still getting burned.

I guess as a classic fan I never much cared for what they did in a campaign as long as it didn’t affect Multiplayer, but I’m a MP fan first and foremost. But I see where you’re coming from. The problem I think is you can’t really back out from story mode if you already had the options in the last two games, unless you made it a prequel. But you can make multiplayer anything you can like.
