With the upcoming Champion’s Bundle, 343 Industries is acknowledging the fact that anyone and everyone that’s stuck with Halo 4 for the past eight months deserves some recognition…assuming you pay them ten dollars first. No, the company born from Microsoft’s inability to let a good thing go before it’s turned into some homogenized slop haven’t fixed anything that really needs fixing: Custom Games are still a sham with no VIP, Territories, Race or any meaningful customization options (not for YOU anyway). There’s no sign of any Matchmaking filters on the horizon, ‘Good Connection’ being the most highly requested of these (and the most necessary for even brief multiplayer excursions). And Theater Mode for Campaign and Spartan Ops? That -Yoink-'s been dead for months, though it still irks me to the nth degree that a company would put an engine into a game they didn’t know how to utilize properly to the point where they have to cut an integral and much-loved part of the game for fear that the whole thing would collapse around their ears.
No, we the “Champions” get two maps, three armor sets, two perks, a set of weapon skins, AND - if we claim our prize within the first two weeks of launch - eighteen payer card stances, three armor skins, and four more weapon skins. All for the lowlow price of ten dollars…I mean 800 Microsoft fun coins. Holy -Yoink-: its -Yoinking!- CHRISTMAS!
Did I forget to mention they’re also bringing back Assault? Wait, what am I saying? It’s an entirely new gametype called Ricochet where you take a ball from the middle of a map and run it over to your opponent’s side to score, except now you can throw it if you want to. It’s a new spin on Grifball…which was a spin off of Assault…but nevermind that: our friends at 343i have brought back a classic gametype that should have launched with the game! Clearly they are listening to the Halo community’s feedback and delivering the goods…nine months down the line.
You can’t be too hard on 'em though. I mean, so what if they have a staff of so-called “industry veterans”? People who have worked on videogames for years, and were huge fans of the original Halo games, and wanted to explore the universe they inherited from Bungie in new and interesting ways, and thus should’ve known better than to put half-baked ideas (ordnance, active camo in loadouts, perks necessary to return your Spartan to pre-343i standards, etc) into a full-price game? It was their first time, as Frankie so eloquently put it. Can’t expect too much from the new beginning of a series that’s been successful for the last ten years…right? Right.
So go out there this twentieth of August 2013 and bask in the glory of 343i’s recognition of what the Halo community considers to be the most important issues that have plagued Halo 4 for the past several months by poneying up some of your hard-earned dough and showing your friends that you really are willing to swallow anything they throw at you.
> Wow you’re excited for the map pack here’s a thought JUST DON’T BUY IT! have a great day
His not buying it does not stop other from buying it. It also does not make it a good idea on the consumer’s end. People buying this content only encourages 343 to take it further.

I will actually. And enjoy it too.
Now, instead of wasting everyone’s time with a self-indulging rant, why don’t you punch a pillow a few times and then write up a clear, calm, constructive, and polite list of issues that might actually get something accomplished?
Or if you happen to be one of those “Halo is dead” types, you might as well leave now.

> I’m getting a remake of my favorite map and armor sets. I feel like a winner.
I don’t see the Pit playing particularly well with Sprint, Promethean vision, jetpack and long range spawn rifles that will inherently break the power positions on the map anyway.
People camping Sword with Hardlights and Boltshots is going to be so much fun

Pretty sure they’re planning to release Legendary Slayer along with it. If not we might have a problem…

We still have no idea what Legendary Slayer even is.

So you’re going to shoot down my post because it’s an assumption, and shoot down someone else’s WITH an assumption?

Don’t even bother man, that is just how he is. You can make a completely subjective statement based on your preferences “I like French fries” and he will tell you that you’re wrong and why. He tells you what you should be thinking based on what he believes. There is no reasoning with him so it’s best just to ignore it and move on, like I have by blocking his posts.
If I could give you a gold star, I would.
If I would have seen this thread earlier, I would have also told you to get ready for heaps of “don’t like it, don’t buy it” and “just leave” posts, but…you know.
But remember, 343i isn’t entirely made up of long-time Halo fans…

Then you’re far too defensive for your own good.

Constructive value? Everything he said in this thread has been mentioned, and piled with constructive criticism, by many others. The “hostile sarcasm” probably comes from frustration, and quite honestly I’m surprised more people aren’t frustrated with 343i, considering what’s been asked for and how little has even been touched on. He’s right. 343i’s priorities are in the wrong place.
