This is a little late, but I’d like to share a story that took place about a week or two ago and I’m just now getting on the forums to share it.
I was in a group with my friend Chaos playing Halo 5, just the two of us. We decided to play Warzone. Well we enter the game and it was March on Stormbreak. Me and my friend both spawn in, we destroy Prometheans in base and proceed to sprint for the Knight boss. Now I hadn’t seen my buddy, which was weird, as I’m sprinting out of the base we’re making plans.
“Alright I’ve got two Promethean grenades, how many do you have?” I asked
“None,” he replied.
“Alright, since I have the grenades take out the watchers and ground troops and protect me as I take out the knight with grenades.”
“Gotcha. Where are you at?”
“Sprinting past the armory.”
“Okay… I dont see you…”
“Weird, just keep sprinting we’ll meet up inside,” I said, trying to get the jump on the enemy.
I go inside, sprint past Prometheans and throw both my grenades at the boss, almost killing it and I’m taken out by the enemy team.
“-Bleep!- finish the boss before the enemy team does!”
“He’s pretty hurt, but I’ll try,” said my friend
The boss dies and I celebrate.
“-Bleep- they got the kill!” he said.
“What? No they didn’t” I say as I look at the score, clearly having the points for the kill.
I respawn, sprint in, and help my team take the Fortress.
“Where are you? I’m in the fortress trying to take it over, we almost have it.” I said.
“I’m fighting in the doorway trying to get in” he replied.
Now after I take the fortress this is when I’m like HMM, that’s weird, he thinks we didn’t get the kill… Wait holy -bleep!- maybe… since I had a breather, I check the team rosters
“-Yoink-, we’re losing they just took the armory too, they must be trying to end the game quickly.”
“What… The… -Bleep-,” I said aloud, reading the roster. Saw his name pop up in the feed actually (reviewing clips)
“Hey Sgt, you’re not on my team.” said Chaos.
“I KNOW MAN HOW THE -BLEEP!- DID THIS HAPPEN?!” I replied
“No wonder you’re winning you’ve been on the enemy team!” he exclaimed.
“I’m sorry man I’ve betrayed you, I don’t know how the hell this happened but I’ll take you out myself! MERCY KILLING TIME!” I said energetically while laughing my butt off and purchasing a special (I cant remember which) fuel rod cannon from the REQ station.
I sprint in from the right entrance and manage to get in to the core and hit it a few times. I die, respawn, and destroy the core Game end, that’s my friend assassinating me lol. As I did so I received a message from a player. I open it and read it. It read “Don’t core” then I get another one, calling me a donkey. And I got a couple more complaining, I don’t believe in ruining the experience for others so I was actually pretty satisfied by the messages. Get butthurt if you want, I thought.
So in all it was a really odd experience, my guess is that SOMEHOW my squad of me and my friend split up. It seemed that the enemy team was a Spartan Company so I think one dropped out or D/C’d and I was put in with them, otherwise they’d of had a full(ish?) squad and I would’ve probably been put on my friend’s team instead and had to be spawn killed for the rest of the game. So I was pretty happy about it, I experienced a really odd glitch, I’ve NEVER been split from my team before and put on opposite sides so I do not know how it’s possible or if it happens often. And I was able to end the game for my friend and his team and got the win for doing so. I really think it was a miracle I HATE spawn camping or being spawn camped (I quit if it happens to be honest.) I was really glad I didn’t have to put up with that nonsense and I was able to end it.
So what’re your thoughts Spartans? Have you EVER been split from your team? And how was this possible xD?
