Well, as we all know, most if not all people who care about CSR want it to see it IN-Game. 343i has apparently stated that doing that would be impossible thanks to the inability to change their own UI, and other “various technical issues”
To me, this adds to my belief of this being a half -Yoinked!- beta game.
<mark>This being said, it is completely inexcusable for competitive halo fans to have to settle for anything less then what has been CSR in past halo titles.</mark>
However, since it seems impossible to update their UIs for CSR, im just making this
weird suggestion.
What if 343i added CSR emblems that Showed your Highest skill rank.
Every time a player advances to a csr beyond what they had reached in any CSR playlist before they would unlock the emblem that said that CSR. So then, the player could then go to change their emblem to match their highest Skill rank, and this would help to fill the void of not being able to see your opponents ranks.
<mark>Please understand, i realize this is in no way even an acceptable replacement for legitimate in-game ranks</mark> seeing as though, people could choose not to change their emblems, or even equipped CSR rank emblems that are actually lower than your highest.
I just figure this would be an extreme compromise on our side but would be doable for 343i

Wouldn’t it be cool to base the unlocked emblems around the military ranking systems used in 3 also !

This would be possible if they included the number emblems that existed in past Halo titles and we could include two of them.
We could conceivably do this with our service tags ourselves but I’m to attached to my service tag

i like it, dunno how hard it would be, but surely it would be harder to do that then to add the CSR next to our names… all they need to do is to link it back to the waypoint one so when that updates then so does the in-game rank… save a hell of alot of time, H3 got it

brilliant idea but i refuse to believe that they cant edit the service record or player card to reflect your CSR… don’t get me wrong im happy there is still one, would be nice not having to have to use a second screen to view it
Im glad this is so well received, maybe if we can get this thread all hot and bothered, 343i will have to at least acknowledge the ideal, right?

Yeah! Honestly, i really believe that either They are telling the truth in which case, WOW we really are playing a beta and im hoping Halo 5 will be the full version.
But i theorize they don’t want to add them in-game because they actually didn’t want to or couldn’t change their matchmaking system to accurately match you with people your rank and having the ranks visible in-game while people are matched with ridiculous opponents would just spark tons more complain about fixing that, which they wouldn’t/couldn’t do.
Either way though if they do the Emblem Ranks ideal it wouldn’t matter to them cuz they could argue that hey, people aren’t putting on the right emblem rank so what ever right? This would be most effective at showing other people your playing with How good you could possibly be so i think it is definitely something they should consider if they really cant change the in-game ranks.

you don’t even need a TU to put in new elblems do you? this could be a quick sanding over the cracks solutions to in game rank
