Assassinations were an interesting addition to Reach, but one thing that bothered me was that it was difficult to tell who was being assassinated at times. You’d just hear their shields popping and them struggling, but it wouldn’t be too clear until their shields popped or they were already dead.
It’s probably way too late to suggest this, but I would have liked to see some sort of indicator that showed who was being assassinated. This way we’d be able to help teammates a lot quicker, or at least catch the assailant sooner. I think this is even more necessary for Halo 4 since assassinations seem to be animated quicker.
Anyone agree, or am I the only one who’s been troubled by this?
I thought when someone was being assassinated the bar under the service tag went yellow showing signs of damage. But i agree. I might be wrong but i could’ve sworn there was something in halo 4 that speeds up assassinations for said individual.
Yeah I have one especially embarrassing moment where I heard the assassination and proceeded to turn around and no scope show stop my team mate. A tiny HUD indicator would be nice like their service tag flashing or something.

I don’t really see it as a problem. I think if someone earns an assassination then they deserve it.

I think you misread the post.
I’m talking about assassinates being difficult to discern between teammate and foe getting the kill.
Why is it hard to tell who’s on your team or not? On MM the teams are always red v blue, plus you have an id tag on all of your teammates heads’ that have indicators to show their actions or location in the game at any point in time. Lastly, if you aren’t sure then just don’t shoot and bait the fool if you chose wrong and your teammate died.
Are people color blind or what? If I’m blue and I see a red guy on the back of some blue guy… then I know whats going down without any HUD indicators… come on now. We already have a bunch of clutter on the HUD now.
Nah. I think we’re fine the way it is. Assassinations should not be shown on the radar or the HUD anywhere really but the grunting of the assassin and prey as well as the shield popping should stay.
I agree with you OP. An indicater would be helpful. Especially if you’re anything like me. I hate people looking at my teammates the wrong way, let alone touching them!

Nope. Understood fine. What I mean is if someone earned the assassination the game shouldn’t make it super easy to have it taken away.

The only way I was sure that it was my team-mate who was assassinated was when the indicator above his/her name would flash red when I would hear the struggling sound. You have to be quick on your ears and eyes to see this though.
I think it would be a cool little addition. Would make the assassinations more rewarding if my target’s team-mates didn’t spot this and help my victim.
I’m still very, very, confused about how people are get confused by this. Unless you are playing a FFA there are teams… of two (or more) different colors. If you are approaching from behind the assassin you can tell who it is, same from the front, or both sides of the player(s). Are you guys that bad!? If you WERE playing a FFA it wouldn’t matter anyway… just kill them both, right?
Someone explain to me how this is a problem. There already IS an indication for when your teammates are getting attacked… the ID tag turns orange! One spartan will have a knife in their hand… identify what team he/she is on! One spartan is getting stabbed or stomped on; - w/e - identify that player! Maybe people just have a problem making quick decisions and thinking at a high speed… or something… because I really don’t get it. This has never been a problem for me, or anyone else I know that plays. It seems to be common sense to me.
