This idea is pretty simple and has already been used in Halo 3.
When people go to the quit option, a bit of text comes up saying “Quitting is discourage in the UNSC… You will recieve an XP penalty for leaving.” It then says for the quit option “Yes, penalise me, I am a quitter” and for the for the other it says “No, I’ll finish with honour”.
For me this was very effective, when I first seen this I actually saw the logic in continuing and felt as though I was keeping a bit of personal pride, I was going out fighting instead of just giving up, it made me WANT to finish.
When something just says “Do to want to quit” it’s really simple to just say yes, you know?

I hardly ever encounter matches where people quit, unless it is one of those ‘‘OWW MY GAWD THAT MOI SNIIIPER!!’’ That and they betray me followed by quitting when they get killed.
Other then that i rarely encounter quits, but i am willing to see that funny text from Halo 3 return. ‘‘Yes i’m a quitter Penalize me’’ oh gawd made me laugh for some reason.
> best way to solve quitting is making the game fun. maybe get rid of the stupid section of the population to
Pretty much this. The only thing more is that they will likely lose whatever progress they made during the course of the match and it will likely count as a loss.
Anything more than that(see quit bans) is ridiculous. Like Pink say the only effective way to reduce quitting is to make the game as enjoyable as possible regardless of gametype.
It is a hopeless mission to try to condition people using punishments over the internet. It doesn’t really work. The only likely way you will get results are measures so Draconian that no one will actually play the game.
If you want ways to reduce the impact of quitting than a quit filter would be reasonable. Take some personal responsibility and take longer search times to filter habitual quitters. I do the same thing when searching for good connections.

i would like a mix of reach, halo 3 and halo 2.
credits for buying stuff (reach), exp for levelling up (halo 2) and skill level (halo 3)
so you could be a colonel with a skill level of 5. spending credits on armour/abilities/etc…
Halo 3’s approach wasn’t particularly effective, but I think it was more effective and more reasonable than Reach’s approach. Technically speaking, it was a slap on the wrist, but for new players who weren’t aware of that fact (a category I once belonged to), the warning worked quite well.

Currently we know you get xp for finishing the game, extra for wining and extra for medals you get during the match. The xp is used to level up, when you level up you get Spartan points to spend on weapons and modifications. Armor is unlocked automatically as you level up.

True to this but only like half of the people playing the game care about rank and such the others are just there to enjoy(Which is totally subjective) themselves so quitting wouldn’t be as much as a problem for them.

> From what I heard the most unique armor and skins will be attached to specializations, challenges, waypoint, etc.
