In Halo 4 if sprint is kept, you should not be able to sprint while in a gun fight.
If you are being shot at and you were already sprinting it should just slow you down, but if your being shot and your not sprinting and you try to sprint it shouldnt let you.
Dislike, sprint is awfull no matter how you twist it. Just use sprint and make sure to come from behind/from the side with sword and the guy have no chance of even turning around.
sprint has no place in halo, the chief is already going at a good speed, he doesn’t need to go faster, and armor abilities take away skill from halo, and add in randomness, bring back equipment, but leave out armor abilities!
> I don’t see a problem with sprint as it is, and I’d like to see it in Halo 4.

I’m just ponderous as to why everyone hates sprint? I don’t get it. I have played all the Halo games thus far and to me it was refreshing to have it. Forgive me for disagreeing with the majority. I don’t play other FPS shooter games that have sprint functionality. I own MW2 and have only played 2 or 3 online games at the most if I were to be honest - oh and Crysis 2. I know Halo is Halo but c’mon… You’re supposed to be a cybernetically enhanced super soldier in the 26th century and to not be able to sprint (even though some say that you move fast enough as it is) seems ridiculous.
Okay so here are my thoughts on how Halo 4 could implement sprint (bare with me please). Sprint is a default feature, like melee, jump, crouch etc. There could be an Amour Ability (and I know a lot out there totally loathe having them in Halo - personally I like that they have been employed in the Reach gameplay) called “Spartan Sprint” where if activated, it EITHER activates an EMP Blast - similar to when Armour Lock runs out of juice but that blast not only disables any close proximity enemies sheilds, it also disables the sprinting player’s shields in the process but the player sprints twice the speed as normal sprint. This sounds far-out and almost unfair to run that fast but to counter this, the Spartan Sprinting players sheilds are disabled making them vulnerable to headshots or general gunfire if hit. OR alternatively to the EMP blast, whilst Spartan Sprinting, it drains energy away from the Spartan Sprinting players shields. So there is a trade off for gameplay balancing somewhat.
I hope some of that made some sort of sense in terms of it being a potential gameplay mechanic.
And yes, I’m pretty sure this will be shot to flames, but if you read this, thanks for taking the time and sorry it was such a long post.
I love sprint in halo, it’s way better implimented in gameplay than any other game I have played.
And to the people who use the overused argument “It isn’t Halo”
Oh really? Hows that? In what way is it not halo?
It seems people just want a refurbished Halo 3. Welcome to the CoD effect.
We need changes in halo. I dont want to play halo 3 again, I want to play Halo 4. I see none of the problems people seem to be nagging about in reach. AA’s = randomness? I think not. It makes you have to adapt to the situation, you have to account to all variables; “does he have sprint? Does he have armourlock? Ok, he went into armourlock, what is my next plan of action?”
Tactics/adaptation/intelligence > Sensless running and gunning.
