Obviously it’d be impossible or much more trouble than it’s worth to just have FF as an applicable gametype to Forge World. (NavMeshes, etc.)
What just might be possible is being able to manipulate developer maps like one could do with Halo 3 forge. Just changing drop locations, decorative pieces (e.g. F-Coils, ammo crates etc.), vehicle spawns, and enemy spawn zones could add, if slightly limited, a whole new field of potential for this gametype.
What do y’all think?
This could work. But I’m not sure how changing spawns could affect how Covenant react to the map. Then again, I know nothing about coding, so I guess it could work. But being able to add barriers, ammo boxes, etc.? That I know would be awesome.
I wouldn’t say anything here is obvious. Pathfinding algorithms for the AI should not be affected by forge pieces. Besides, map and game testing is there for a reason. Forgers do that all the time.
It should be a question of where the major drop zones are, and where you allow the players to go.
I would LOVE it if this were a thing. I stopped forging when Halo 4 came out sadly but oh my god would I love to create a Firefight map. That would probably make me more excited about Firefight returning if it were to return.
I think a full out create-your-own-spartan-ops-mission would be amazing, with basic enemy movement coding, and full fledged forge palette, objective markers, marines, ammo crates and more!
Just imagine the minigames the community could create with that…
This would be cool. Lots of interesting creations would come from this.
Forgeable AIs would be nice as well. Also loads of customisable options to come with that.
This is mainly for forge/custom games, but there’s no reason why it can’t work for firefight as well:
E.g. - Toggle between ‘friendly/enemy’ AI’s, ability to change colours of said AI’s (primary and secondary), ability to toggle between classes (such as, Zealots/field marshals, Majors etc) - this can apply to all AI’s across the board, and ability to select weapons for each AI. I don’t want to overdo it, so this is all.
A man can dream.
