First things first, I am basing this on the theory that the planet in halo 4 is Onyx. I must also mention that I have not read all the books and know very little about the halo story so feel free to correct were necessary.
Alright so during the lone wolf mission you never actually see Six die. My theory is that he puts up a fight and takes many injuries but keeps fighting. One of the elites witnessing this event is impressed by Six’s honor and courage. At this point I see a situation like the scene from the Last Samurai when tom Cruise gets captured. This elite orders the others to stand down and Six collapses. They take him to their ship to nurse him back to health and give him a chance to regain his honor that he lost when he spilled his blood. Days later Six is still unconscious on this ship when it is tasked with secretly following a captured covenant vessel that has escaped the Reach, this is the ship that Halsey and Kelley are on. They follow the Spartans to the asteroid belt and witness Halsey stealing the ship from the asteroid belt and follow her to Onyx. Six has regained consciousness by now and is knowledgeable of his plight. During the following days the covenant become preoccupied with fighting the Spartans on Onyx, and give Six a chance to escape his cell. Six proceeds to escape the ship and flees from a large number of pursuers, he then finds an alternate way to the into the sphere and escapes.
The fact that time is skewed inside the sphere can account for the years it takes MC to arrive on the planet.
I’m not saying that Six will be a playable character in the game but it would be pretty cool if he showed up in some terminals or something.

jeez everybody, sorry! I didn’t mean to touch a nerve. I actually like Six more than I do Chief because of his character. I like the idea of many Halo spinoffs to expand the halo universe. I think it would be cool if each game of the new trilogy had a smaller campaign with a separate character to broaden the story. much like deniable-ops in splinter cell conviction.

The Shield World is Onyx? Wow you’re really outdated on your info. Onyx is a planet of Sentinels.
Now I do think it’s a possibility that the Shield World is Trevelyan since it’s so huge, but that possibility is small.
Also Noble Six is dead. I still can’t believe there are people who believe he’s somehow alive or the possibility of him being alive.
Just the fact that Noble 6 has no canon gender or appearance should be proof enough that he/she will not return, since doing so would ruin the whole aspect of Noble 6 being you.

NOBEL SIX(6) IS DEAD!!!
-He got shot several times by super heated Plasma bolts.
-He got stabbed in the chest by that Energy dagger.
-Those Elites probably mutilated his body after he/she died.
-The atmosphere is probably un-breathable later on. Do to the toxins, and what not from the glassing.
-He probably got glassed.
Everything I listed would have killed him:
-He got shot several times by super heated Plasma bolts: Those plasma bolts can melt through metal. They would have melted through is armor, and literally tear 6 apart.
-He got stabbed in the chest by that Energy dagger: He got stabbed in a location that would either kill him instantly, or fatally wounded him.
Also his armor doesn’t have Biofoam injectors.
-Those Elites probably mutilated his body after he/she died.
-The atmosphere is probably un-breathable later on. Do to the toxins, and what not from the glassing.
-He probably got glassed: I don’t need to explain how that would kill him.

I see what you mean, but Noble 6 was “you”, so how would you be “you” and Master Chief, at the same time?
Maybe in an alternate campaign division, like Halo2…
Laughed at all of the “no way he’s dead end of discussion” and “Reach sux so no” posts.
I wouldn’t be opposed, but it would mean that Halo 4 would have to link to Reach in some programming way or something, since you customize Six’s armor and he’d have to appear in the armor you tweaked in Reach. I could see him getting new armor or something, though.
Also, I couldn’t really see an Elite stepping in and saving Six. Despite the fact that some Sangheili respect the humans, most if not all consider them to be vermin who deserve to be wiped off the face of the galaxy.
