a Way to copy maps to a second xbox 360?

Hi guys! I own two 360s and use them both frequently. However, it’s a bit inconvenient to game between them and even in using them for system link games, as I’ve only downloaded the Halo: Reach map packs to one of the 360s. Is there a way to copy the map packs and my custom gametypes onto my second xbox, without losing that data on my original?
Thanks!

Wouldnt it be easier to just sign in your account on the other xbox and download the maps again. If you used a product key off the anniversay edition then it may not work but if you have paid for them then the pruchase should be attached to your account. I am not really sure if the Software License is applied to the device or to the XBL account. You may have to read the EULA.

You can get a flash drive, move your maps and gametypes to it.

If you’re dealing with one account switching between both xboxes, the simple solution would be to upload the maps to your Cloud Saves. If it’s two accounts, the only real solution is a detachable drive, or uploading your maps to the reach file share and downloading them on the other.

That wouldn’t work if you have alot of maps. Cloud storage is far too small. The best options would be either to put your maps onto a flash drive, or take your hard drive with you to the other xbox. I’m pretty sure there is a copy function for data, I think you need a special cable to move data from one HDD to another HDD, but that would work too. Hope this helps.

Thank you guys so much. I’ll be trying your suggestions out this weekend. I’m trying to get it to where all of my family (we’re Halo nuts) can play Reach’s Firefight together offline. Your input is much appreciated by the fam!!!

With the map-packs, they’re attached to your account and you should be able to click “Redownload” on Xbox.com, then sign into the Xbox that does have them. They should start downloading (I think).

As for your custom gametypes? Cloud storage (assuming you don’t have too many) or a flash drive!

Ohhh, I thought it was custom maps, I didn’t read clearly. Map Packs (Noble, Defiant, Anniversary) are linked to your GamerTag so you can’t use them on another xbox account even if you transfer them. You have to pay to get those maps on the new account.

I used a couple of cheap 4GB memory sticks/flash drives.

It’s not a new account, just a new Xbox. But grazia!

You may have to recover the gamertag you used to purchase the maps onto the other xbox’s hard drive, as the maps are “licenced” to that tag.
( I’m not 100% on this, but I tried moving the anniversary maps to my lil’ bro’s box so he could play FF on isntalation 04 offline, and it didn’t work, I assume it was because he wasn’t using the authorised tag)

After that you should just be able to use a flash drive to copy the maps and move them over.
