A way around hidden ranks (for friends)

I play with the same group of people all the time. What we are probably going to do is just put our rank into our service tag for whatever playlist we are playing. For example, mine would be J34 if I was a 34 and my friends would be W36 and H37 with the first letter being the first letter of your gamertag.

It’s not a complete loss but I still wish I could see what my opponents ranks are. It makes me more nervous or confident if I can see what I’m up against. That just adds to the intensity of the matches.

I suppose among friends that could work sort of. I totally get your last point. I was a 45 in H3 so usually I would get matched up with people around there but some games I would check out the ranks and see we are mostly up against mid 30’s and it would give you an idea as to how the game may play out. Others times we would end up against a full team of 50’s and everybody would put their game faces on. As meaningless as it was to the actuall gameplay, it did create an atmosphere before the game even started and as a result it seemed to directly impact the way I played. I especially enjoyed mopping up a team of fake 50’s and sending then message like “I’m sure that 50 of yours was worth every last penny hahaha”.

I will say that I don’t care as much as most do about the ranks being visible but it would have been nice to see 1-50 make a return.

Now you can only tell people what your rank is and then you have to prove it.

even though I would like it if you weren’t allowed to play ranked with people who have an entirely different rank than you (a level 1 and level 50 can play together is a good example) I have to say this would probably work.
