As we know John-117 has seen more then his fair share of Battle and all the death Blood and guts that comes with it .Super solder or not that much death pain and loss will take a toll on anyone .John has seen Samuel ,James ,Johnson, Miranda And countless Marines die in the war .Also he probably believes Fred,Kelly,Linda and Halsey to be dead . He has lost almost everyone he has ever known and cared about.
After all that he finally gets to sleep believing he has saved the Human race and he is finally done fighting .Then he wakes up to the Covenant attacking and he is entering a shield world with a Far greater threat inside . Last but not least Cortana his only friend now is dying right in front of him .
A lot of solders suffer with Post dramatic stress syndrome [PDSS] .Could we see a war torn John . That I believe would be a interesting way to bring out his character .As he hurts you hurt and feel for him . He will still be the tough as nails super solder we all known but he also has this side of him we have never seen before . Could we even see him on the brink of suicide ?

I would be surprised if he didn’t have any emotional scarring from the things he seen and experienced. But I don’t think it would push him to suicide in my opinion.

I would like to see a more personal side of master chief and see how he truly feels about these events but I personally thing he has way to much willpower to commit suicide. unless you decide to jump off a cliff.

OT: I don’t think suicide is an option but, things such flashbacks could work or he could become like Emile and try to hide his feelings.

It would be cool that he becomes a more emotional character, not too much. And definitely not suicide.
No mc knows what needs done he would save the galaxy one last time first.
He will probably die doing so though so that would kinda defeat the purpose.
And if he says more than 3 sentences at a time it will break canonz.

This. There’s a reason suicide is called the coward’s way out, and to see our badass hero kill himself? No.
i wouldnt worry about him… hes literally built for war, its all he has ever known, the only time i would ever worry about him and his mental state is for when there is no need for Spartans and he gets discharged and ends up working at walmart -_-
but yes i get that he is “HUMAN” and we all have limits

That’s exactly it. He was kidnapped as a kid, and basically had his childhood forcefully taken from him. War is all he’s ever known.
But we all know that’s an absolutely perfect formula for a functioning and sane adult, amirite?
