Halo MCC Season 8, called Mythic, has introduced an element of Halo that has always been around but is only now receiving a special and more formal attention, that being the Non-canon side of Halo. What I find particularly interesting however, is that the armors are not just write-offs like an easter egg would be, rather these armors have their own stories and their own universes. Much like the Yoroi armor from Halo Infinite, these armors tell a story about Halo in a different light, spinoff universes where our beloved Halo universe is very changed yet very much the same. I haven’t seen very many people talking about this save for a couple Youtubers, but even then the topic was discussed for a week and then dropped.
Could we possibly expect books and literature about these new side-universes? Could we end up getting stories about The Chosen, The Shapeless Horrors, The Kingdoms, and more? These fractures in the Halo canon may not be canon to the main story of Halo but they are canon to the fictional multiverse for Halo as a whole. The potential and implications for this are massive, and interesting, and open up doorways to some extremely interesting possibilities for Multiplayer and even new stories told through the eyes of those who reside in the new universes. With Season 8 on the horizon and Halo Infinite planning to have recurring Fracture events as Seasons come and go, I personally believe we could expect to see more armors and maybe just maybe, new maps associated with such new universes, and if enough love and attention comes that way we could even get more expanded lore for the Fracture Universes. Even something akin to the Halo Legends animated film collection, but centered around the new fracture universes could be a possibility. It’s all very exciting. What do you all think?
