As of now milestones just let everyone know how much effort you’ve put into gaining achievements. Maybe in Halo 4 milestones could be used to unlock armor.
Milestone 10 Unlock Mark V helmet
Milestone 20 Unlock Mark V shoulders
Milestone 30 Unlock Mark IV helmet
Milestone 40 Unlock Mark VI chest piece
Milestone 50 Unlock Recon Helmet
etc…
Sorry dude just my opinion but it would make it impossible for some players to have some armor if they havent played EVERY halo game milestone 60 requires a decent amount of achievements. Tho i never liked halo 3’s way of getting armor i liked buying it on reach but just my opinion. interesting idea thoe OP
i dont know what u mean but it would be cool to do things that are really lucky and challenging to get a rare helmet instead of just grinding points to get it. but something that wouldnt promote camping
I remember when it took all but 50 Gs to get the EVA helmet for your avatar which was milestone 50 But I would like for this to happen because I make it my main goal to get every Halo achievement. Other than Halo i usually don’t get 100% in a game.
Why not use daily/weekly challanges then?
Complete 5 daily challanges = Mark V helmet
Complete 10 daily = Mark V shoulders
etc
Completing weekly challenges should give bigger rewards, or more specific and sought-after items/armour (dino/hayabusa/robotic arm, something like that aka unique etc)

I’m all for using anything for new armor. I’m really not that into armor I just figure it’s better to have armor that is somewhat achieveable to anyone but at the same time not everyone is going to be able to get all of the armor. Like say give the armor effect Pestilence to someone who has all of the Achievements involving The Library from Halo CEA. With the way Reach is set up anyone can get all the armor as long as they just play. I’m just trying to find a way from “cool” looking armor to be a little more rare.

I like you’re idea. It promotes playing the other Halo games. So far I have 100% in all if them so if they do implement this I would like Halo 4’s achievements to be hard.

I’m over 60% with Halo 3.
100% with Halo:ce - Anniversary
100% with Halo 3: ODST
??% with Halo Wars (hate the game, don’t own it, no point.)
I always thought waypoint’s tying in of other Halo games was more a marketing practice, surely all the newcomers to say Reach or Halo 4 are likely to want to go back and buy the old games to unlock items for use in the new one.
Not that I’m against it though, its fun to go back and play the earlier Halo entry’s. Be awesome if they made a new Vidmaster set of challenges to cover all previous 360 playable Halo games. Something like an annual challenge say kill 2013 enemies in mm (3,Reach,4) ff (ODST) campaign (Wars/CE:A) during 2013 and it unlocks a unique Recon variant in 4.

Big waste of time. 343i Wouldn’t put us through that hell just to get…Another recon variant? -.-
Vidmasters were almost impossible as it was heavily leaning on having friends to do it with. I’m not a fan of anything that I can’t get, that needs more than just me. (I have Recon on Halo 3).
Although, seeing as I’ve completed halo: anniversary, I deserve a cookie.
Think there should/will be some armour that people who have achieved milestones can access, kind of like what Waypoint did with Reach. It won’t be a lot, but hopefully they will look a hell of a lot better.
I like it. Maybe a mix of milestone / rank / credits could be good. It would make me feel a little less of a nerd for spending all that time playing Halo games.

a: 2013 enemies is too much for you? thats not even that much to get in less than a month.
b: Im thinking you dont have XBL to play with your friends
c: or what your saying is you have no friends? So because you have no friends (Im assuming this based on your second statement), that means people like me and my buddies cant get to do VidMaster-ish achievements, ones that require skill and practice to get?
d:I bet 343 wouldnt just give us another RECON helmet, they would probably do something completely new

Highlighting Bull–Yoink- like a boss…
I have all Vidmaster’s (pain in the -Yoink- to get)…Thus i have Recon, look at my H3 service record.
yes, 2013 enemies is too much. Why would i want to play a game I’ve been playing for years, just to get something special…For a game that I’ve never played before and am excited for it.
And I have over 60 XBL friends, thank you. I’m also in a Platoon on BF3.

If you’ve already been playing them for years… you already have 2013 kills… Stop rage’n.
I like the idea. You actually have to earn some of the items to unlock them. Instead of reaching a rank, or buying them. The good thing is. I’m over 50 milestones. I’m at 56
I really like this idea, to be honest. They sort of played with something like this with a few armours in Reach, but I always felt like there was much more potential to it.
Halo 4 should have many ways of unlocking armour, such as going through Waypoint with Milestones, unlocking achievements or reaching a certain rank. It would add more to the experience, making it more fun!
