A Thread For Those With Doubts

Relax, seriously.

Halo 4 will not be released until the Holidays. That will be many months from now. Game developers can get so much done in that little time. Look at what Bethesda did with Skyrim in only a week for Game Jam.

Just because they had a clip showing sprint doesn’t mean that any of the other armor abilities will be included. Sprint could be scrapped at any time or if they do include it, there’s no telling how each playlist will defer from each other and there’s no telling what other changes they’ll do before the game is released.

From all the footage I’ve seen, the game’s physics relatively resemble Halo 2 and Halo 3 more than Halo Reach. Matt from HaloTracker got to play Halo 4 at Spring Showcase and he commented that the BR felt more like Halo 2.

343industries is composed of 3 or more former core Bungie employees as well as former members of companies such as Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda Softworks, id Software, FASA Studios, Kojima Productions, Pandemic, Black Isle Studios, Gearbox Software, Treyarch, Guerilla Games, Sony, Edge of Reality, Midway Games, Timegate Studios, Tryptych Studios, Turn 10 Studios, Hidden Path Entertainment, Raven Software, Liquid Dragon Studios, Activision, Namco, Kuju Entertainment, and more. Source.

All of these people left their companies to work on Halo because they are fans of the game themselves. With the guidance of former core Bungie employees, this company has the greatest potential to carry out and revive what we all love and enjoy about Halo. This team has an accumulation of over 200 years of experience with video games.

Very little actual gameplay has been shown so far so judging how multiplayer will be on such little information is ridiculous.

We need more threads like this

Great thread.

The amount of people who whiiiiine. So much whining.

Man, I need a new forum where there aren’t 11 year old whiners whining about X,Y and Z.

Anyone else?

Yeah im with you

I honestly think there is more whining about the people who don’t like what they saw then there are actual people whining about the game.

I’m starting to think that this kind of thread doesn’t help all that much. It’s like delaying the inevitable – asserting that people not express opinions about game mechanics (known to be in the game or otherwise) until we have more information. At which point it all starts up the same way anyways.

I know you mean well, but these fans have stuff to say. I would instead encourage them to be more level-headed about their criticisms and approach the topic from a slightly less passionate voice. There’s nothing wrong with people wanting to express opinions about game elements they expect to see. What’s wrong tends to be the style of conveyance of the opinions.

Top shout brother, but it is when I see threads like…

Br back…miss the DMR!!! WHAT!!!

Welcome to Reach 2

and posts like

343 are sellouts

that I get annoyed.

Those people should, in the nicest possible way…Fudge off.

I completely agree with you, and that’s why I made this thread

A heard the same exact thing before Reach came out.

It’s nice to see someone who actually makes sense. Thank you.

I don’t understand people anymore. They beg and beg and beg to see just a flicker of content and then they begin the age-old act of complaining based on what they saw. It’s disgusting. They can be so ungrateful sometimes.

There’s a difference. When Bungie created Halo Reach, many of their core employees were busy working on Halo 4… so consider that.

I personally think that Bungie rushed Reach because they wanted to be done with the Halo franchise.

Not sure if I’m correct or not, but I don’t think Joe Staten wrote the story for Reach. Correct me if I’m wrong.

The book Fall Of Reach was written by Eric Nylund. I think this part on the Halo Reach Wiki answers who wrote Halo: Reach’s storyline.

“After Halo 3, development studio Bungie created an internal team to work on Peter Jackson’s planned Halo game, Halo Chronicles. Chronicles fell apart and the team began working on a standalone expansion project—Halo 3: ODST—while another team, led by Creative Director Marcus Lehto and Design Lead Christian Allen,[21] worked on Reach.[22] The team considered many different concepts and approaches to the game; among the rejected ideas was a sequel to Halo 3.[23] The team eventually settled on a prequel to the first Halo game in brainstorming sessions. It would take place on the planet Reach, during a pivotal time in the war. “…Reach, as a fictional planet, was just a great candidate [to] play around with. It’s such a rich world, with such a great fiction surrounding it,” said Lehto. “We were like: ‘Okay, that’s it. We’ve just got a lot of things we can do there so we can build an immense story with it.’”[24] No longer burdened with continuing the story threads of the Halo trilogy, Bungie used Reach to introduce new characters and settings.[25] As Reach ends with the destruction of the titular planet, Bungie wanted to be sure players still felt a sense of accomplishment and success. “It is a challenge overall to ensure the player feels they’re doing the right thing all the way to the end,” said Lehto.”
