I have noticed that in the Halo: Anniversary trailers, the Marines have the same look as the Troopers in Halo: Reach. Will this be fixed by the time of launch or are 343 just going to leave it?
Personally, I’d rather them create a Marine character rather then using leftovers from Reach, but that’s just my opinion.
there changing it, they just needed something to show at the conventions.

Precisely. The trailers with Reach character models were just placeholders. 343 needed to get a quick trailer out for the public.
the E3 trailer and the Campagin game was an old build of the game and it was using alot of place holder from Reach.
As long as the marine has the scouter I’m fine with whatever they do.
I suggest they go Jungle Ops for the outfit color, it looks much better.

Okay, thanks guys. I’m glad to read that.
The unarmored Marines in 343 Guilty Spark should have jungle tiger-stripe camoflauge, while the armored ones should have a light urban digital and brown armor plating as well as the green scouter-thing.
It will probably be changed, most of things you saw at E3 (and that demo on the Silent Cartographer) are placeholders. It’s not the final product.
Marine AI’s can’t drive for jack anyhow, very annoying.
Right now they have mostly Army Trooper placeholders but the marines that showed up in Reach pretty much visually updated CE Marines.
It makes more sense to just keep the Reach Marine design since technically the PoA just left there when this game takes place.
Look there solider so the going to have the same armor

except that the troopers in Reach are ARMY not Marines. The POA is a NAvy ship therefore the models need to be updated MARINES not ARMY

Even if they don’t replace them I don’t think it’s that big a deal. The army troops in Reach actually more closely resembled the Marines of Halo: Combat Evolved than than the marines of the other Halo sequels. Besides, the faces for the Reach models are the best the series has ever seen. I have a hard time believing Saber can top it in such short notice unless they hire the same guys Bungie did for the face mapping.

There were Marines in Halo Reach. They had gray fatigues and wore dark brown armor. They also had sealed helmets (This might be because due to the glassing, Reach’s atmosphere was being filled with noxious gas, or something) and “UNSC” on their shoulder pad.
I don’t see why they can’t just use the Reach Marine model, minus the sealed helmet.
Reach’s Marine model
They should just update the player models and use the Marines from the PoA Level in Reach!
Although, I wouldn’t mind the UNSC Marines from Halo 3.

Nope, the soldiers at the end of “The Pillar of Autumn” are in fact Marines

Don’t use Halopedia for all your information. In this case you are right, but in alot of cases it won’t be.
Anyway, I think the Reach marine models would be ok for some of them, but they still need to create Naval Officer models, based off Captain Keyes’ model in Reach, and they can’t get away with making CEA without variety like boonie hats, and fatigue hats for Johnson and Stacker.
