A Thing About Region Lock. 343 Needed to Learn.

I have seen people complain that region lock is gone.
Here’s the thing.
NA players seem to like region lock.
Why?
It means they only get NA games.
Less lag, but still get games.

However, EU and AUS players hate region lock.
And we hate it for a reason.
Now I know AUS get it bad, but this is all coming from an EU player.
For those of us who like FFA and are high MMR players (or in some cases not high MMR players)
From Sunday night, to Thursday night…we get ~4 hours to play.
Between ~5:30pm and ~9:30 most of the time.
Now AUS, I can imagen get it somewhat similar and worse (I’ve heard some people struggle to get warzone: assault games…)

But seriously.
The best option would be one I’ve said for a long time.
Do what Titanfall did.
We pick the server we connect to.
And we see the population of each server.
Then, I can select and EU server…and get EU low lag / low ping games.
Then, when people from the EU stop playing, I can change to a US / NA server…
Still get games, but a bit more lag.

TL;DR VERSION:
Halo 5 is server based, simple solution to fixing lag / low population regions.
Do what Titanfall did, let us pick our servers and we get to see the population of each server at that moment in time.

Extra:
Hang on.
I find it funny that I can spend 2 hours searching for FFA on EU servers with region lock and not get a games.
But get a Titanfall game within 20 mins.
And that game’s population is like…5000 people now.
World wide.

GG 343.

As an Aus player, can confirm that i’ve been playing off an on since December and I have never been able to find a warzone assault match

Grifball, BTB, Warzone and Social Slayer seem to be ok. SWAT can be instantanous or take 5+ mins. Never been able to find players for anything else.
That said, lumping AUS and NZ players into the more laggy EU(compared to the NA) servers is terrible. (Looking at you, every online -Yoink!- dev ever).

Options are always nice.

We have a couple threads like this already. Please post in one of those.
