A while back, one of my 360 Slim consoles began having power “seizures” (constantly turning on and off by itself, and never staying on for any length of time).
I would like to know if this has occurred to anyone, and if their is a fix.
A guy who apparently works with 360s told me that it’s possible a game I was playing had a bad set of code and sent my XBOX into “meltdown”.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this, and if you have ever heard of a game causing this kind of problem.
Do you mean it’s not only turning off, but turning on all by itself? If it’s just randomly turning off and then back on, it might be a power delivery issue. If you still have warranty, the best thing to do might be to send the console to be repaired (or replaced).
Nonetheless, I doubt it’s caused by any particular game. Bad code usually only causes the game to freeze at most. It most definitely doesn’t affect the console unless the game in question is being played.
If the console is turning on and off by itself it usually means that it is receiving inconsistent amounts of power from the power brick. If something was wrong with the console itself, it would give you a Red Ring error. You should probably get a new power brick.
