A survival horror Halo game?

I was just watching a “The Know” video on Youtube and they were talking about a halo game without guns and that got me thinking, what if there was a halo game like Alien Isolation, maybe with a bit more combat. You could play as a marine from the first halo game when they take shelter in the forerunner facility on the halo ring. You conserve magnum ammo and there are new flood types. you run, hide, shoot, explore, find audio logs explaining some backstory. I think it would be really cool. Practically the mission “343 Guilty spark” but more survival horror based. And since your a marine you can’t risk getting close to any flood form since they can infect you real quick.

its a cool idea but it just dosen’t fit the halo ‘game’ type here’s hoping though

Although this is a great idea. If we put “Halo” on it and it doesn’t involve shooting things, you get the people who yell “This isn’t Halo” and “Halo’s dead” to come back and start doing it all over again. Although if I had to have an idea for something like this, it would be some sort of horror game like you said. Not from a soldiers perspective, but what about from a civilians perspective? Elites are as big as Spartans if not taller, and Spartans are enhanced super soldiers. Imagine how scary it would be to be a regular human and see an Elite running towards you, running to kill you. Your defenseless and all you can do is hide. I think Halo can pull off a good horror game, whether or not the community accepts it is really the problem.

Yeah, that sounds really cool, Elites are giant so that would be horrifying. But yes, the community would be the real problem here and that really sucks because I would love to see halo branch out to different genre’s, Shooter, Rts, Twin stick and hopefully a horror game

We already have Halo Wars, and we have the second one coming out too. I’m excited for that.

Yeah, Halo wars 2 should be really good, also Halo wars 1 should be coming to xbox one via Backwards compatibility

I think if the flood returns, they should certainly have a horror sequence to reintroduce them in a big way, but I feel a spinoff game dedicated to them being really scary and dangerous would be ruined after they get put back into a mainline game, which, let’s be honest, is going to happen.

This could also easily be done using the Mona Lisa, or any other situation the flood have been in. The only problem is that the flood aren’t really that scary as we’ve seen them, so it would be difficult to sell them as such.

I agree, it’s certainly not a bad idea. I’ve played all of the halo games, and some moments (most on 343 guilty spark) involving the flood could actually put at least some fear in a player. But you would need to make some sort of flood combat form that is just as scary or scarier than the xenomorph from Alien: Isolation, and that’s easier said than done. Not impossible though.

I completely forgot about that! That would be amazing!

I would totally pay a survival horror game!

This would be cool for like a phone game. Just a little spin-off to hold you over for the next game.

I just finished a HALO Survival game recently.

I think it’s better known as HALO CE Campaign (especially against the Flood).

I would love to play as a regular marine with flood around. I always thought how scary it would have been to play as a marine in Keyes’ squad when they entered that flood containment facility thinking it was a Covie weapons cache. 343 Guilty Spark was a very creepy level even when playing as a 7 ft augmented killing machine in Mjolnir. Imagine how much scarier it would be playing as a regular -Yoink- cannon fodder marine knowing infection forms will latch onto you instead of pop when they make contact.

That would not be as scary though, and that would defeat the purpose my friend.
