A suggestion for the quit ban

Alright, so people seem to just continue to grief and quit leaving the rest of the players hanging so I thought the penalty for quitting should be a bit more costly. I am proposing that a random permanent unlock is taken away and you are forced to re-unlock it. If anyone has a better suggestion, let’s hear it.

How about not trying to shew people away and making them stop caring about the game? How about have actual social non-stress inducing matchmaking? how about we fix the spawns? how about we “fix” the so called skill matchmaking, uhm?

I don’t think 343 can discern between lag-quit and manual-quit.

If-so, that’d be a fun punishment.

I have never been banned but from what I have gathered here on the forums I think it is harsh enough now. Continued quitting after a ban will start to levy some pretty harsh ban times against offenders. I have seen several people on here with ban times in excess of 4 or 5 hours and some even with ban times of up to 24 hours. One guy got suspended for several days for posting a possible workaround for idling during a match which I thought was poetic justice haha.

How about no quitting penalty whatsoever. Instead. focus on replacing the teammates that were lost via join-in-session (which doesn’t count as a loss when randomly searching for a game).

OR–how about adding a huge REQ point bonus for not quitting games. In other words, the longer you stay, the more filthy rich you become.

I agree with this actually, hate me if people want to but I just don’t care for the ban system. It’s one of the few games (that i know of) that even does it. One of my other favorite games Black Ops 3 never bans people, and it’ does just great as a game and has alot of players. So far as I know Battlefront doesn’t do it (i could be wrong of course) and they’ve got alot of players. One of my other favorites Gears of War…never heard of quit banning there and I’ve played them since they first came out. It also doesn’t really help the problem… people are going to quit whether you ban them or not. At least stop extending the arena bans to BTB that seems a bit much, it’s not even ranked. Also agree that the focus should be on re-placing the players instead of banning paying customers from playing, thats just my opinion though.

That would all be nice, but people still need to stop quitting. You’re just making excuses for them. But I agree, some things definitely need to be fixed. Earlier today, I spawned with “The Answer”, a level 6 REQ. I was spawned in front of the enemy base, with the enemies already looking at me, 2 seconds later I was sniped and lost my gun. It sucked.

The ban system is so stupid, it didnt work in reach and doesnt work now. Just a loss of rank, xp and not gaining xp/rp would be enough. Timed quit bans just make people leave this game behind with out such an idiotic system in place. If we were able to deal with quitters in past halos then we can now without something so stupid.

I’m cool with this if players could be replaced quickly.

Well when you have every current req and nearly 200k req points, this would hardly do anything. The current system is fine, just needs tweaking abit.
