I been playing Halo since 2011. My first game I every played was on the Grifball gametype. I have read some forums threads about grifball banning and betraying. So I played a few games of it to see if I would accidently betray or get betrayed by someone. I was betrayed twice and betrayed 4 times over the course of a few games.
Now I have a suggestion of how to fix this. I found a friendly fire setting in the Custom game settings. I know the Living Dead playlist on Reach used to have a problem very similar to this one and was fixed by disabling friendly fire. Can the Friendly Fire setting in Arena Grifball be turned off?
Also I would like a Mythic Grifball variant that includes, prophet’s bane and Tartarus’ Gavel instead of the basic sword and hammer. It would be neat.

my suggestion is turn off the friendly fire for grifball. The bans will probably still occur if booting is off.

Because if we didn’t then trolls and exceptionally terrible players would kill their own team nonstop and ruin grifball. DUH. How does this not occur to people? Are you new to internet gaming or rather the internet all together??

Why not get rid of friendly fire all together for Grifball only?
I think we should get rid of friendly fire for Grifball, I played my first game the other day and was doing quite well and all of a sudden I got booted.
I accidentally betrayed someone twice I think, I was so confused. With the CQC of Grifball and people swinging hammers/swords everywhere, it’s so easy to kill your own teammate by accident.
Tartarus’ Gavel would be so broken in Grifball!

With the new game variant I want, there would be more betrayals as well.

Otherwise you could abuse the lack of friendly fire by launching ball carriers, or swinging at enemies without any need for caution. Friendly fire acts as a balancing weight so players are not overly aggressive with hammers in big bunches.

it also is getting a lot of innocent players banned. I do see your point but my idea could help in the long run.
i had posted in 2 other threads complaining about the friendly fire booting and banning in grifball… it’s infuriating and the other threads had a reasonable amount of support as well… i really hope 343 is aware of the amount of displeasure and is working on the fix

- Make it harder to get the booting screen to come up
- Have the selected option changed to “Forgive” so u don’t accidentally boot a teammate if you spam A after you die (Like I do)
- change it to where your left stick does not alter the selector.So then, if you have twitchy fingers, you can spam A and it will forgive them instead of booting them, and since the left stick is disabled, you don’t also accidentally switch to “boot” but instead you must use the D-pad to switch options.
I feel Carnage is right, there would be too many people abusing friendly fire.

I am not complaining. I have never been banned my self. This is more of a thread to answer the other threads and a simple variant I want (Mythic Grifball). I am just tossing ideas and having conservations about how to fix it. This was my first time playing Grifball on Halo 5. I played about 5 games and shared what I think should be done. According to the replies these ways the kicking/ banning can stop
- Disabling friendly fire from Grifball
- Disabling Kicking/ Banning from Grifball
- What Yoshi said aboveI am more of a fan of Disabling friendly fire because it would most likely make Mythic Grifball a variant in the Grifball Playlist and less bans to appear
