A strategy I love but I can see balance issues.

Hello all,

Since Friday, starting on my second match-made game, I have been using Protector Sentinels that are exclusively available to Professor Anders. I found out how useful and amazing these units are in bulk since that second game I played. I had completed the campaign and my first game was more of me just exploring the mechanics of regular MM compared to campaign, and since I played as Anders that game too, I looked though her units and power upgrades. I happened to choose the Protector Sentinel. During the mid-point of the game the enemy team stopped attacking and my teammate and I were in a pretty good position so I decided to do something that I thought would just be funny. I built a lot of Protector Sentinels and invested a leader power point into the Sentinel Synergy upgrade as well. I didn’t expect them to be this good…

Needless to say, I completely destroyed a base in seconds, and I was just laughing at how OP these things felt when in a swarm. On the third game, I decided to focus solely on getting these units out in high numbers as fast as possible. I did so, and I won again. Rinse and repeat for another half-dozen games and I am noticing that these units literally beat everything quickly except a swarm of wolverines and reavers. Combined with how fast they move since they are air-units, you can dodge almost all leader powers (glassing beam, pelican gunship cover, Uber units, etc.).

A final note: I noticed for the first time today others are using this strategy now so either people must have figured it out from playing or perhaps some people I played with or against saw how OP these were. I have even lost to another player from the same strategy (I still found it funny despite how fast my base got destroyed).

Is it just me or are these units too good? (Only drawback is that they take a LONG time to build even with reserves lv. 3)

The Glassing beam is overpowered as well. If it’s fully maxed out you can destroy several fully buffed units in seconds with no way to counter. There’s basically no warning and the beam tracks and it’s terribly hard/impossible to micro your units to minimize damage.

Everything has a counter marines destroy sentals and wolves make them non existant

Not seen it in action but very curious will give it a try now  fingers crossed I don’t get randomly disconnected again before I get too

Ive noticed if u let the game idle u are more likely to drop so i usually restart hw every few games
