Removal of zero bloom playlist is a step in the wrong direction.
There are different groups of people who play halo, there always has been. I am of the group who hates bloom. I do NOT want to play 85% bloom, I do not want any bloom. I can not make that anymore clear. I DO NOT WANT BLOOM.
Why are you forcing the non-bloom players to play bloom now? We were completely happy with our zero bloom playlist. Now i have to gamble for the chance to play ZB and run the risk of playing bloom. And on the flip side, the super slayer fans now run the risk of being forced to play ZB. There is no win/win anymore.
-There are people who like bloom and play Team Slayer.
-People who like 85% can play super slayer.
-And people who like none can play Zero bloom.
For the love of god STOP trying to mix us together. Respect the fact that we have different opinions and tastes. If there are only 150 people playing zero bloom, then leave us be and let us play happily. Do not mash us in with other players and ruin both our experiences.
You guys SHOULD be helping us by adding an objective zero bloom playlist, not removing ZB slayer. Help your fans, don’t destroy your community.
This is the same problem i have always had with Bungie in the past: In h2 i was forced to play SMG start until they finally released team hardcore. In h3 i was on my knees praying the other teams would vote for BR start. In reach 343 finally took over, made zero bloom. Thanked god, everything was better. And now you regress and go back to the same problems we had before by mashing people together.
And yes I know there is MLG with zero bloom and i play that too. I’ve been playing MLG customs and playlists since 06. The kind of gameplay in the MLG playlist and zero bloom playlist are completely different. I like both playlists, and i don’t want to be forced to play MLG only because 343 took ZB slayer away.
There were not enough players to support that playlist, it was one of the least populated playlist, perhaps if it was more popular it would have had a fighting chance. It will still be available in super slayer so perhaps you will still get the chance to play it.
Probably not much of a comfort, but welcome to Waypoint.
> Hey, a lot of people here think the TU that removed bloom was a step in the wrong direction. Why are these people ignored?
Like i said, they should respect their community. There should be 100% bloom playlists, 85% bloom playlists, and zero bloom playlists. Mixing any of these playlists together is a slap to any of us.
For instance, i understand the fact that there are groups of people who enjoy bloom. It would be ignorant of me to force you to play a playlist where you run the risk of playing zero bloom. I would not want to ruin your experience by forcing you to play TU. And like wise, i do not want my experience ruined by being forced to play Bloom.

What is the playlist limit anyway? To be fair for everyone, I hope at least there is a fair balance of the basic playlists for all gamestyles by the time 343 is mostly done with Reach in the fall, even if this means making a few playlists into Mixed Slayer/Objective stuff, just for the sake of something for everyone.

Oh. Wow, really? Huh. That’s odd. Usually the “competitive” players on this forum go into every thread with the attitude of, “Play the game by my rules or don’t play Halo at all!”.
Guys relax. They are not getting rid of ZB, they are actually moving it to Super Slayer. Super slayer will have voting options between ZB and 85% bloom. So it’s technically going to increase the amount of players playing ZB. I actually thought it was a pretty good change based on that fact.

Yay, this this and this. But more importantly can we have our DLC back now? If not, then second choice SQUAD!!!
there moving it to super slayer, a playlist that doesn’t allow you to get trampled on by a full party while searching alone. I see that moving it could work out considering that it was one of the less popular playlist and it could attract more people to zb.
While I do like zero bloom, i don’t think it fit in otherwise vanilla Reach anyway.
Zero bloom is perfect when you up the movement speed for increased strafe effectiveness (for longer killtimes) to balance the faster killtimes. But I somehow never enjoyed ZB as much as I expected to.
Though this is not surprising; reach wasn’t designed with ZB in mind.
I suggest you play MLG; the competition will be a lot more fierce, but I can tell you’re competitive, so i’m guessing you will enjoy that too. Even more, even, because of the perfect balance that can be found there.

I thought MLG featured ZB… Feels similar to me. ZB playlist just had motion sense and AA. Am I mistaken?

That’s what competitive players want right? Zero bloom, fast movement, and bleedthrough damage. Even has objective gametypes. It’s all there.

“Out of sight, out of mind” is my philosophy. Personally, I like 85% bloom, no AAs and bleed-through. I don’t care about 100% bloom, impregnable AL and double-pummels as long as I DON’T HAVE TO PLAY THEM.
“Play the game by my rules or don’t play Halo at all!”
^And trust me, there are plenty of Vanilla people who act like that too.
Zero Bloom was the perfect bridge between Reach and serious competitive gameplay.
It was a playlist where you wouldn’t get screwed over by bloom, but still got to enjoy the relaxed slow pace of normal Reach, and without people screaming in your ear for not calling out or with half of the players quitting each game and every other game being against a to4. You also got to play the real maps, and in a playlist like ZB where it’s not overly competitive it meant that it didn’t matter too much if they weren’t perfect maps.
Now that it’s in Super Slayer it’ll never get picked. It’s always in the bottom slot and is not even guaranteed to be there. SS had a population 2-4x bigger than ZB, so the probability that there will be a majority of players in a game willing to vote for ZB if it is even an option is low. We might even be lucky to play it one game in 5 or 10, and without any ability to be picky about the map it’s on. This arrangement sucked in the TU Beta playlist, and it’ll suck in the Super Slayer one, too - except the probability of ZB is even lower. Quit bans everywhere.
