I read 343’s post. Honestly, they answered most of my concerns about the halo 5 beta. I think it’s great they’re listening to fans.
Still, I really think they should push for non-spartan abilities playlists added to the game. We could have custom forge maps for this, seeing as the current maps are already tailored for sprint. Now I know many people think this idea would separate the community too much, but I think it’s worth a try. We don’t know if it would be a good idea, but do we know for sure it’s a bad idea? I don’t think so. When you think about it, H3 had social playlists and ranked playlists and that worked great.
I think 343 won’t get anywhere by playing it safe and hoping everyone likes the current state of H5. Some people like it as it is, but others don’t. I think it’s just worth a try to add non-spartan abilities playlists. I honestly think this would attract more people to the game, and I don’t see how it would make anyone not want to buy the game.
I’m not trying to offend anyone, just putting an opinion out there.
I agree that they should, although none of the playlists have been discussed. With an option to remove new features in customs, I think it is inevitable.
My only nitpick with your post is the playing it safe line. Wouldn’t this be closer to playing it safe, by catering to older fans to appease more people? By that logic, Halo 4 played it safe with its style, and was hated. Just pointing that out.
Good post. Very glad even people with reservations on the new things have seen a shift toward positivity in the beta. Most of the community should be happier overall (some will still hate it, but there is no pleasing them).

Yeah, I honestly was caught in negativity these past few days so this post by 343 was very nice to see.
I guess by not playing it safe I meant that even though putting the playlist I suggested could risk dividing the community, I feel like it’s worth the risk. I’ve seen many people say separated playlists would harmfully divide the community, so in my view if 343 thinks this way they would be playing it safe because they would not be willing to take the potential risk that could be separated playlists.
I hope I made that clearer.

Definitely. I agree with the concept, as it covers more bases with fans, new and old. Maybe it’s what they need to show new fans that old Halo is fun, too!

Exactly. I really wish more people thought this way, I feel like it’s such a simple thought, but so many people get caught in the ‘halo needs to change completely’ or ‘halo cannot change at all’ nonsense. With logic, it’s not that hard to realize that there’s a way to make multiple groups happy.
