Now I know this might not carry much weight, but let me just say this. I’ve been playing Halo since day 1 on November 1st, 2001. I’ve stuck with Halo no matter what direction it went in. I own every Halo game(Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo: CEA.). I enjoyed them all to the fullest extent and never hated any of them. I actually liked Armor Abilities and Reach’s campaign. I liked the RTS gameplay of Halo Wars as well as its interesting story. I even own Halo: Legends and a majority of the novels. You better bet that i’m going to be getting Halo 4 on day 1. I’ll get the biggest edition. I like everything they’re doing with the game. Its a fresh start. Halo needs a fresh start. We shouldn’t go back to Halo 2 or 3. As much as I enjoyed those 2 immensely, i’d rather have a new experience for once. I like the idea of Halo style “Perks”. I know Frankie and the rest of 343 will do it right. I encourage the inclusion of Sprint as a default ability. I love the new musical direction. I like the Chief’s new look and the new focus on story. I’m also looking forward to a fictional wrapper around Multiplayer.
I don’t speak for all the veteran Halo players, because I have seen some who wholeheartedly disagree with me. Say what you will. I’m merely speaking my mind here as a veteran Halo player and one of the franchises oldest(not in terms of age) and biggest fans.

OP, long time Halo player here too and I agree with your post. I have complete confidence that 343i will do a great job at delivering us Halo 4. Would like to see more Halo 4 info soon.

I really do agree , i don’t see why people are being so negative about these changes.
If 343 dosent take the risks by theese changes , halo will not evolve . people say 343 is codifying , but its not about what game had it done to first , its about wich was most succesful . 343 did not have to continue halo…
Its a long time till the release date , and so far so good (in my eyes) .

OP you know what you truly made my day. I am so happy to hear some positive outcome right after 343 released all that juicy info the forums blew up with complaints OMG THE BR LOOKS TERRIBLE AND SPARTAN 4’s LOOK HIDEOUS. It was making me furious to see that 343 has basically listened to there fans so much and have put SO much time into halo 4 and then release so much info after 6 long months and all they get was complaints. When my friends and I saw the vid we blew up with joy. I know 343 cares so deeply for halo and there fans and whatever thing they add to halo 4 even perks is fine with me cause they obviously know exactly what they are doing from a vet player sense 2001 also thank you OP for your thoughtful and positive post btw I actually like COD but if you don’t its all good bro
