Whether or not you enjoy Halo 5, you cannot deny that the community is divided. Sprint or no sprint - that is the question. This split is very evident in the playlist populations as many of those that preferred the older style of Halo no longer play. Personally, I think Halo is best played without sprint and spartan abilities, but I respect those who like sprint, as I once wanted the game mechanic to be in the Halo myself. No matter what side of the argument you fall on, you cant deny the lack of success Halo 5 has had compared to the past few games. What do you guys think 343 should do with Halo 6 in order to increase the sales and populations of the matchmakng playlists? Classic Halo playlists? Custom games in Matchmaking? Spartans vs Elites game types? I wanna hear your thoughts on the issue and how 343 can satisfy all Halo fans.
You cant fix it, even if the hole sprint debagel was managed, the community will always split itself on some other issues. Its happened in every halo.
Its impossible to satisfy everyone. Just give it as many customizable features as humanly possible imo and it should help out a lot.
Modernists and Purists, and neither side has any actual desire to co-exist with the other side in the same franchise.
Halo 5 was their attempt to satisfy everyone. Now, I’m unsure what there is left to do.
I think with the numerous advancements in Forge a classic playlist is a lot more appealing and feasible than it used to be in the past (way better looking maps, more sandbox options for recreating different games, scripting, etc.) but it’s still not as good as a classic game.
You can’t please everyone, there will always be people clashing over any little thing.

like the swordhog
Simple answer; you can’t. If it isn’t over this it will be over something else. It happened with every Halo game before this (“The Pistol shouldn’t be underpowered”, “You shouldn’t have equipment”, “You shouldn’t have Spartan Abilities”) and it will continue to happen.
The half of the community that loves and follows the classic Halo will always be a major presence until their leader is randomly killed off in a beginning cutscene.

The fix is for people to stop moaning about a game that’s already been made, and just go and have fun playing it. If they don’t like it, they can go and have fun playing an older game, it’s so simple.
Personally, I don’t mind sprint, but I think it was an absolutely stupid thing to put into halo.
They knew people would get upset, why did they put it in? Whether you blame 343 or Bungie, it just shouldn’t have been added.
Halo wasn’t built around sprint, thus it was ment to be a game to be taken a little more slowly, a different change in pace from your cods or rts games. I liked it slower.

I love sprint, so do 99% of other Halo players. But fear not, there’s a game just for you called Halo MCC. You can relive your fondest memories for eternity if you so desire, while the rest of us move on to better games.

Lol u wut m8? Anyways like I said, I personally don’t mind sprint. But traditionally halo attracted a slower pass crowd, which is were I would prefer to be.
Also, I have come to the conclusion I just don’t like online gameing much in mcc. Lol mcc’s matchmaking is just lost in nightmares for me. I have fun screwing around on maps in forge though, so mcc isn’t a loss for me

except that binary is
- not real
- it’s not that cut and dry
- theres a lot of people with a lot of different opinions
I fall in with a pretty closer to old school Halo crowd, but I’ve always ok with people who prefer Halo 4 (even if I don’t understand why people liked it’s horribly unbalanced and identity crisis filled multiplayer), and I don’t care if they can play the game the way they want, that’s why playlists exist. A lot more of the community is willing to compromise, it’s the fact that those compromises aren’t being put into action in the game, over-arching design decisions kill the chance of that compromise (ie. Warzone being the “casual” playlist and driving non-competitive players out of Arena due to its lack of social playlists). But given that there aren’t playlists that cater to the different desires (heck we ain’t even got KOTH yet and as a programmer I can tell ya that’s a darn easy thing to script code wise). It ain’t there theres not solutions that could cater to both, its that with us lacking even basic functionality like simple game modes like ya know infection, those solutions ain’t likely anytime soon.

Logical Fallacy: Stating opinion as fact - “better games”
Logical Fallacy: Gross hyperbole of statistics - “99% of Players”
Please if you’re gonna debate the topic please don’t act like you’re magically right. All polls on opinions about Sprint are biased given that many old players who left the franchise won’t see them and it will be a lof of new folks on the forums. And secondly Halo with Sprint isn’t “better”, it’s different, and just cause its new doesn’t mean it’s better (That fourth transformers movie wasn’t as good as the first by a long shot). You may like it better, but I really don’t cause I feel like it doesn’t add anything, it just complicates things and most people don’t use it a lot in high level play since you’re more vulnerable and I feel it’s better to have you’re weapon ready. You can’t ask for your changes to Halo to be made if that means you’re gonna throw people who thought it was just fine under the bus. We have just as much a right to an opinion as you, and we’re allowed to disagree with you. (also have you noticed how Zombies can’t sprint in Infection? it’s almost like sprint isn’t always good from a design standpoint…)
And please, don’t be condescending or rude, treat us (people who don’t like sprint) as equals, cause you sure as heck ain’t better or more right than us, it’s and OPINION, not fact.
But that’s just it - I’m not going to debate anything with you. You have your old games, I have Halo 5. To be honest, I love the fact that some of you don’t like it, as it keeps you away from the game. Stick to your antiquated games, do what makes you happy. Keep cluttering up the forum with endless hate threads if that’s what you want to do with your life. But I will always condescend you as I find these posts a bit desperate and pathetic.
I couldn’t care less one way or the other. I’ve played every game with the Halo name plastered on it since CE. There’s plenty of other things divining the community aside from whether or not people can move faster.
I’ve found the whole thing a bit pety tbh. People are entitled to have their own opinions, but you all need to stop trying to force them on everyone else.
People want to argue back and forth about things they really have no knowledge about like sales and population numbers, but as long as I can still find a match and have fun, it’s all gravy.
sprint works for me

Says better games, ignores all data pointing in the opposite direction. If we’re going to be intellectually dishonest let’s ignore sales, population data and every statistic showing halo is going a downward direction. We get it halo just became easier for you recently, we’ll play those high skill gap games while this guy can enjoy his curving bullets and insane magnetism.
people complain anyway. just give the sprint-haters the option to toggle it off. then they have no sprint. if they dont like it then dont use it. but dont complain you get killed off more easily. let the people who DO like it use it. but dont go to them to say they CANT use something cause YOU dont like it. thats nonsense. only little kids do things like that.
its a part of halo. and it should stay.
even minecraft has sprint…
