I love to impose new rules upon myself to make a game more fun and interesting, and this time, i figured, why not share my newest idea with everyone else. Many people (myself included) were disappointed that Spartan Ops wasn’t as challenging as they hoped it would be, which is why I have come up with this simple method of putting your halo skills to the test. Some might be able to do it with ease, others will struggle, maybe even give in, but I feel that it might just give that sense of difficulty many have been looking for.
The rules are simple enough:
- you get one life. should you die, you must exit the mission and start all over again
- when you die you must change your entire armour set (you are a new spartan)
- you must name each spartan you play as (try to get an emotional attachment, you don’t want them to die)
the ideal difficulty is Legendary, however the player should go no lower than Heroic. Co-op is also an option, but if one player dies, they must exit the game. once all players are dead, the mission can be restarted
just to help explain the co-op
4 players
1 dies, must quit
3 players left
TLDR: it’s basically the Nuzlocke of Halo
A Halo Nuzlocke? I like it
i haven’t gotten to try it yet, but when i get some time, hopefully i’ll have some fun with it
Some optional rules are to also change your gender and ID when you die, or limit yourself from using power weapons and vehicles (unless required)
legendary spartan ops on solo?
yeah im not good enough for this challenge lol.
that’s only the ideal option, heroic is also available, alongside Co-op
i know i’m not skilled enough to solo that either
Sound like a fun and enjoyable challenge!
Thanks, I’ll try it when I get a chance.
Glad to see you’re interested, it might not be as crazy as my other ideas, but still should be interesting none the less
I like trying not to die… with the addition of checkpoints, could be better in my opinion.
I’d love to give checkpoints, but since there are none in spartan ops, I’ve got no other choice than outright restarting.
Besides, with the way spartan ops plays now, people would still just die for ammo instead of trying to find new tactics to survive and win
> I like trying not to die… with the addition of checkpoints, could be better in my opinion.
That would be a neat thing for them to add!
Considering people have already done no death runs a few times if not more…
But a challenge is a challenge so I guess its one way to be creative. At least this one is different as I’m guessing you mean you’ve got to restart from Episode 1 Chapter 1 if you all die?
Where you restart is really up to the challenger, the initial rule can be flexed in many ways, either by starting from the mission they just attempted, to the beginning of the episode, all the way to the beginning of spartan ops.
The challenge itself kind of has it own difficulty settings for the varying skill level of the player. Alongside that, you can self impose new rules upon yourself like I had stated above, the three I stated in the OP are the only required ones
