A solution for the Warthog VS Plasma pistol

I’ve think of a possible solution to “fix” the vulnerability of the warthog agains the plasma pistol for being this one on the load outs. So straight to the idea:

What if you need two shots for EMP the Warthog? Making a second shot on the next, lets say, 15 seconds, be an EMP?

If think about it, it could work. A single plasma user could EMP the Warthog if this one stays around or enlist make it run away and become a deterrent element for the Warthog users.

And then, we can almost say that every one has enlist one load out with a plasma gun, so it will be quite normal that two users have the plasma gun while fighting a Warthog. But yet not so regular enough to make the Warthog a suicide, not to mention that is harder to get hit twice.

As an example, plenty of times I have seen a car get hit by 2 or 3 shots of a plasma gun.

Also, be sure to check out the threat I’m still sad over the Warthog, the main threat on this forum regarding the Warthog vs Plasma pistol issue.

It could be a step in the right direction. I think constructively talking about it is a good step in the right direction. The warthog has almost been made obsolete :frowning:

I don’t know about that, I mean, it would just be so much better for either the PP to be only a Pickup weapon in BTB, meaning ditching customs loadouts for more structured loadouts that don’t include the PP or plasma grenades, loadouts that encourage vehicle usage.

While that is an easier solution, BTB is not the only game mode with Warthogs on it, and doing so on every mode with vehicles will be, most likely, against the thoughts of 343i and many players.

Although I m sure it will work great on BTB.

Or just disable custom loadouts for BTB. Have preset loadouts that features the majority of weapons and AA’s available in Loadouts.

A UNSC-only game variant added to Big Team is the easiest solution to the Warthog Problem.

When the servers go down we go to a fallback hopper with no plasma weaponry in the loadouts. The Warthog immediately becomes fun to drive. It’s like a huge weight has just been lifted off your chest.

I was thinking about bringing up vehicles having energy shields for Halo 5 so they needed two PP shots to take down, but the easier solution is just removing PPs from Loadouts.

That’s a great idea let hogs have shields.

Reduce the amount of Plasma Grenades in loadouts to one instead of two and up vehicle health so that Warthogs get destroyed from at least three Plasmas instead of the current two. If this happens vehicle combat will become much better.

The simplest solution would be to force Magnums and Frag Grenades in BTB using the custom game options we already have. It’s not ideal, as it makes perks like Firepower obsolete, but it’s the best we can do as of now.

So when I’m playing CTF, and the flag is getting away in a Warthog, I have to EMP it twice to stop them from taking our flag.

And you think this is a solution?

Give the warthog an armor buff, and remove plasma pistols from loadouts and put it in personal ordinance drops. This way, if players want to be effective in taking down vehicles without power weapons, they will have to work for it.

Thats an excellent idea!

Or just disable customizing your secondary weapon in BTI.

Maybe even something like this. Your secondary weapon options.

  1. Magnum
  2. Plasma Pistol CHANCE (there is a chance of getting a plasma pistol in your loadout, but most times you will spawn with a Magnum)
  3. Boltshot CHANCE (there is a chance of getting a Boltshot in your loadout, but most times you will spawn with a Magnum)

If there are more Plasma Pistols or Boltshots alone than Magnums in BTI, then I think there is something wrong.

I’m in support of this idea, but I’d rather have PP’s just as a regular weapon drop, not a personal ordnance choice or option.

Hey! Nice to see I’m not the only one making threads about vehicle-related issues in Halo 4.

Personally, I think the best fix would make wheelman make the 'Hog immune to stuns and make other vehicles a little less vulnerable to stuns as well.

PP completely wrecks Wraith and scorpions with a decent team.

Keep thinking, you’ll come up with the right solution. This one in my opinion however, is not it.

Leave the Plasma Pistol and Warthog alone. Since the PP is not designed to be used as an instrument of delivering kills on its own, it should keep its niche as a tool to at least stop vehicles. That’s one of its only advantages over the Magnum and Boltshot. Don’t like it? Keep Wheelman in one of your Loadouts.

or just let the Wheelman perk stack, so for each person that is the hog that has the perk, it cuts the EMP time in half.

one person with the perk in the hog would cut it from 4 to 2 seconds, 2 people with the perk would cut it from 2 to 1, 3 people would cut from 1 to 1/2 seconds.

BAM balance. and the warthog is the best vehicle in the game.

Here’s a better idea:
Get rid of stupid loadouts so everyone doesn’t spawn with flipping plasma pistols.
