I would love to see a few changes made to the roaster function that would make custom games flow so much better. Those changes being add a “Recent Player” section to it and add a “Allow Anyone” to the game session privacy options. These small changes would make hosting and finding custom games so much easier and I would really love to see it happen. Why do I want this to happen so badly? Well I hate using the dashboard to invite people personally. It’s slow, glitchy and just a pain to use right now. Although it works for inviting a bunch of friends it does not for recent players. The roster function in MCC is much faster than using the dashboard but sadly is still out shined by halo 2’s original roaster function.
I know it may not sound like a big deal but those small changes would make a big difference for custom games. Plus I think those having issues with matchmaking right now would greatly appreciate this. Now I have one more request I don’t ever see happening but still feel the need to ask. That would be adding the ability to search for custom game lobbies. Not like match making searching but searching and getting a list of lobbies to choose from.
Anyway that’s it from me what do you think? Should 343 give custom games more love, are these the changes needed or should they just focus on matchmaking?
11/14/2014 Update: Joining custom games in progress results in a error saying “Session is full”. This is usually not the case. Most people will not notice this so please spread the word on this. Joining mid game is one of the things that make customs run so smoothly. With no quick invite options for recent players or people you search, this bug makes hosting games dreadfully slow. A fix to this bug would be greatly appreciated.
