A Small Idea for the 'Natural' HUD

Quick little idea, but didn’t have any others to put it with, sooooo… yeah. And I called it natural HUD because I’m unsure of the actual name for it.

What I’m talking about is the scoped HUD when you don’t have a weapon that can scope. The default one…? Yeah…? Well, here’s the idea:

When you do scope with the natural HUD, the display reads ‘Range’ and ‘Elevation’ followed by a bunch of zeros. This my be a thing, something I’ve never noticed, but those zeroes never move. Your Spartan’s range and elevation is always 00000000.

----So, in Guardians, I’d like to see a HUD mechanic in which when you default scope, the ‘range’ and ‘elevation’ will read the distance away in meters and height off normal ground level the match’s objective is.—

‘Only objective?’ you’re thinking (that’s right, I know what you’re thinking).
Well, in Slayer type matches, your HUD will lock on to the nearest visible enemy and read the height and distance for him/her.

Just a little idea. Thoughts?

Not in Halo: CE. Or have I misunderstood you?

He means when you zoom with, say, an assault rifle. Your visor has a standard 2X zoom, and in Halo 4, there’s a graphic of elevation and distance, and it reads all zeros unless you’re looking at an enemy (campaign, as Chief, not multiplayer) and I think he’s suggesting something like that in multiplayer.

Yes, this! Thank you clarifying… I didn’t really know how to explain it… :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m always a fan of small details. I would like to see this implemented.

Isn’t this just pulling teeth? It really doesn’t affect anything in the way of gameplay, which is what they should be focusing on first and foremost. I, honestly, have only used the standard 2x zoom with the Railgun, and even then I didn’t notice this. I doubt many people have noticed this either. It’s just a little novelty that really doesn’t do anything.

But since I don’t think it will be of use, I also don’t think it could hurt anything by being in there, so if it pleases people, I don’t see a problem with it being implemented at all and I wouldn’t be against it. I’d just be more adamant about other things first.

TL;DR Sure, why not.

Sure. If they can add it in without adversely affecting other things then why not?
