A Small Idea for Halo 4

Hello everyone! I was just thinking of ways that vehicle combat could be improved (apart from the warthog being a bit less bouncy, I think it’s already pretty spot-on). But I had an idea that you could swap positions in a Warthog (or other similar vehicles) without having to get out of them.

For example, if I’m on the gun and my driver get’s sniped, I can press Y or the D-Pad and my Spartan quickly jumps from the turret to the drivers seat. It would also be useful if you wanted to swap position with a team mate or had to quickly grab the gun after driving.

I know it’s only a small idea, but I think that it would make combat more fluid. What do you think? Thanks for reading!

Actually, I kinda like this idea… It’s pretty much a steal from Borderlands, ina way. But still a good idea for Halo too.

It happens a lot that you’ll be in the gunner seat, and your driver dies before you. Then you’re just sitting there, waiting to die. With this feature, after your driver dies, you push a button and drive away, possibly escaping death. So I’d definitely be down to see an idea like this in H4.

Thanks, glad you like it! I’ve only ever played Borderlands once at a friends house, so I didn’t get the idea from there

I kind of like this idea too, but i’m not sure if it should be in the game. Maybe in custom games?

Of course there would have to be an animation for it maybe the spartan could stand up in the passenger seat and climb into the driver seat hijack style? Or stand up in the passenger seat and swing onto the turret.

This actually could be pretty cool. I don’t see how it could hurt gameplay.

I love the idea, I was actually thinking of that a few days ago.

Makes sense. Not gonna lie, I may have a LOT better Big Team K/D if this was implemented, haha. Anyway, I hope they see this or have already thought of it. It could really help the fluidity of gameplay. Whenever a game has a mechanic or can end up with you sitting there in a position like, “Well… This really sucks. I guess I’m really -yoinked!- now… At least I had a good run, I got 3 whol ki—” sniped. Whenever you can get in a situation like ^^that without any fault of your own, that’s not good. Not saying the game should cater to us, but if they can implement things (like the one suggested by the OP) that can work fluidly within the game and not be an obvious crutch for casual players, that’s always good.

Really? You should pick it up. It’s an awesome game IMO. Especially the Game of the Year edition, so much content it’s ridiculous.

But yeah, in Borderlands you push Y (I think) and it pops up with a message on your buddies screeen asking if you’d like to switch seats. So the ideas are a little different, but I think an option like this would actually be more suited for Halo. Haha.

Borderlands FTW!
I like the idea tho

Thanks, I think I’ll pick it up if I have enough money after for CE:A

And thanks for the replys and ideas guys; it seems much more friendly on here than it is on B.net!

Well you shouldn’t be putting anything about Halo 4 on BNet anyway. On a side note, BNet is a really good community, its just that The Flood seeps into all the other good forums to a degree and they mess it up for the rest of us.

You mean like unreal tournament?

It’s not a bad idea, and i’d make for some sick animations considering halo animates getting in/out, driving, hijacking etc

And the BNet community is only annoyed at this lot when you post there because it’s always in the wrong forums by people who insist that they are right asking the same thing over and over again :stuck_out_tongue:

I love this idea too, it is all pefect for if the gunner gets killed in a warthog, and you are in the passenger seat, you can quickly swap positions to help return your vehicle to an instrument of death. I Love the way you think :), please keep it up!

Thank you very much! I love driving the Warthog, so I was just thinking of other ways to improve it. And I’ll try to, but my mind seems to drift from topic to topic
