When you jack a vehicle, you stay in first person mode and have a chance to instead of take that persons seat, keep on shooting at the person(s) in the vehicle.
But if you just want to play it safe than you just tap the hijack button again to rip the person out of the vehicle like old school.
Also you can either plant a nade or just melee just as you do with tanks.
Edit: I also realize this couldn’t work with flying vehicles, but those would be automatic hijack
Edit#2: This is sort of a gimmick, but it might cure all those “can’t get out of a hijacked vehicle” angers.
When you’re boarded, you have the option to eject. Allowing u to either get as many kills until you die, or try and flee the vehicle from the oncoming barrage of melees, grenades, and team shots. The fall would from eject would leave u one shot(assuming there’s fall damage). Or the eject would shoot you very high into the air.(assuming there is no fall damage)
After ejection, the hijacker can either enter the vehicle, or blow it up like intended
Or we could just have it like it was in Halo 2, which was the best hijacking system.
Well first person hijacking would be cool, but having to shoot him would be easy, unless the driver can knock you off the vehicle with a series of long and difficult steering.
> Well first person hijacking would be cool, but having to shoot him would be easy, unless the driver can knock you off the vehicle with a series of long and difficult steering.
Well yeah I don’t mean the reticule would stay right on his head. Your aim would move along with the motion of the vehicle
> Or we could just have it like it was in Halo 2, which was the best hijacking system.
Was it any different to Halo 3’s? Can’t remember.
> Or we could just have it like it was in Halo 2, which was the best hijacking system.
Or we could evolve the game and not move backwards two games
New medal: “Jack Snipe” -(Hijack that guy in the ghost, and noscope him, in the head, with your sniper)
It would be funny if when you were hijacking someone and you through them out of a ground vehicle and they hit a tree or wall or something it would say you splattered them.
> Or we could just have it like it was in Halo 2, which was the best hijacking system.
Try saying that when you’re trying to board Mythic skull enhanced Flood tank pilots on Quarantine Zone.
Not to mention how annoying it was to be shot at by the AI while you were bashing tanks. Boarding didn’t give you an immunity. It left you vulnerable. On the other hand, in H3 and Reach, boarding a vehicle after killing the gunner leaves you safe (except when Catch is on) which is simply too easy to exploit.
Still, I liked H3’s hijacking the best, though Reach’s ability to get the pilots out by getting in the turret seat was good.

LULZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Halo 2 had MORE options and MORE depth to it’s hijacking system than Halo 3 and Reach. Do you even know how it works?

Yeah, you could actually -Yoink- of the vehicle which makes sense, especially when you get boarded in the BACK and your -Yoink!- door isn’t blocked.
Also, you didn’t automatically blow up the vehicle, and when you got kicked out you weren’t left there defenseless (there wasn’t the stupid stun effect where your aim and movement are extremely slowed down).
There was actual depth and skill to the Halo 2 hijacking system.

Well I’m not talking Halo 3 or Reach am I? I’m talking of future halo gameplay additions to future halo games…
I’d rather get a hijack medal I deserved rather than getting boarded half a second later cause the guy got out and got back in.

LMFAO you people are too good.
First of all you said “and not move backwards two games” which IMPLIES (see: deductive reasoning) that you believe Halo 3 and Reach moved forward, or at the very least implementing Halo 2’s system in Halo 4 would be a move backwards which doesn’t make sense, since Halo 2’s system was the height of the skill and depth of the hijacking system. Hence my response comparing it to the next two games in the series which one would believe would “move forward.”
Second, take the stupid medal if that is what you are worried about, that doesn’t mean you can’t let the opponent GET OUT and actually have a chance to counter the hijacker instead of it being a complete game over like it is in Halo 3 and Reach.
Why don’t you come up with a real counterargument. (there is at least one good one I can think of)

Hahaha dude, 2+2 is 4. Even if you don’t agree with the halo 3 and reach system, they’re still the games ahead oh h2. And you say the h2 system adds depth when I’m almost sure you don’t know what depth means in these terms. Having a quick back and forth between hijacking a vehicle doesn’t add any depth at all.
Plus let’s say I hijacked your vehicle, its your fault for getting to close because either I dodged the splatter, or u missed it.

Lol, yes it does?
How is being able to counter a hijacker not a more deep gameplay experience than you being DEAD without a chance the second someone boards you?
Explain that to me.
Explain to me the meaning of depth in terms of videogames and gameplay.
BTW good job on figuring out the one counter argument that could possibly justify Halo 3 and Reach’s system.

It barely took any skill to counter jack someone. In my beginning days of Halo 2 I was terrible, but I was able to time my X pressing because that’s all it took…timing.
With the system I proposed you can do many things.
If u hijack passenger side u have a chance to shoot gunner, driver, or passenger depending on which one us most important target, no scope snipe all vehicle inhabitants and many more…adding much more options (Depth) to what you can do to a opponent vehicle.
I’m done arguing. Please stop too, and give me ur opinion on what u think of my idea. I don’t like using threads for arguing
This gets only 1 page while other bashing threads get talked on all day -_-
As other people have said before I don’t want the hijacking system to be as soon as u get jacked ur screwed. When someone boards the back of my tank why the -Yoink- can’t I get out that’s so stupid the front over the canopy that’s ok because it makes sense. Also I don’t really like the whole stun thing either.

Neither do I, I think the stun thing is extremely stupid. But I agree with how you shouldn’t be able to get out.
But what do u think about my actual idea…?
I know it’s petty, but I don’t like how you can shoot a hijacker off in Reach. If you’re able to get close enough to board a Wraith, you should be able to do your thing without the mortar hitting you.
