I’ve been saying that and many other things for a long time, but people just don’t care about simpler methods of getting things done.
> Second, DMR is loadout weapon, and since most people are using it as their default weapon, moving it to powerweapon category is much more difficult than simply nerfing it.
Going into Forge mode and placing it on a map is more difficult than editing the game’s code? Besides, you all can just go back to yelling “Adapt” at each other again.
> So why don’t we just remove all of the loadout weapons until everyone spawns with nothing but a Plasma Pistol. Then you need to find weapons if you want anything better than the worst weapon.
i wouldn’t go that far… a magnum would suffice

Halo 1 had that as the default Slayer starts, if I remember correctly.

You know well enough that I hated that, too.

Only on certain maps if you didn’t have the starting weapons set to “Generic.” Slayer Pro used generic weapon spawns, so everyone had an AR and Pistol off spawn.
Some maps had Plasma Rifles and ARs as the starting weapons.

True enough, it’s been a while since I’ve played Halo 1 multiplayer, I had forgotten that certain maps had different starting weapons.
I don’t find it too bad… Just strafe well enough and it shouldn’t be a problem.
The BR’s problem is that it will ALWAYS have a disadvantage to the other precision weapons. This is that you have to micromanage 15 different shots while the DMR only has 5, Covie Carbine 8 (9 or 10 depending on skill but still), scoped LR 4, unscoped LR is in the same boat but it can still become scoped.
Usually it isn’t that bad but add factors like lag, large reticule (random spread), and slower rof. Jump into a local custom game then go online and see the difference.
When a classic Halo playlist comes out, I hope all will be well.
I think the balance is fine. Short to medium BR usually wins cause it is easier to aim (larger reticule with spread) medium to long obviously DMR wins, and straight medium its a toss up and goes both ways. Personally, I have no need for BR. I either use the DMR or AR, depends on map. If anything, remove BR.
Oh how I can feel the flames (even though I know I’m right lol)

I have an idea… Why not we do away with both weapons, and take the best of both and smash them together and make a weapon that is Burst unzoomed, and semi when zoomed. make everyone happy.

No!
I support the use of both. Do away with one, do so for both. Keep one, keep both. I use both. No problem.

no thanks, I’d rather remove the br.
Almost like… Team Throwdown.

Halo 2 did it to a much lesser extent, too. I remember Midship and Gemini having Plasma Rifle starts.

They can’t do that because then it would be orange, and orange isn’t competitive.
All they need to do is nerf the DMR simple as that. Everyone knows the gun is stronger over every other primary. When 9/10 ppl have it as their most used weapon its for a reason right? Ill admit when I first played Halo 4 back in November I used it more mainly because I was so used to it (playing reach all the time didnt help) but little by little the BR became my go to weapon mainly because most ppl dont see the potential that gun has over the DMR little as it may be, plus when you out BR someone thats using the DMR with your BR it feels great!!
1: Trivium \m/ (-.-) \m/
2: DMR would be great as a pickup weapon. It shows that it should not be a base weapon, based on v2/ Throwdown settings.
3: Trivium \m/ (-.-)\m/

Curious. You think the DMR should not be a load out weapon based on the settings of a play list that is barely played?

The DMR is unpopular because Halo is encouraged to be played close quarters to mid-range. The only long range are the sniper rifles, which is why they’re so popular.
With the DMR, its a weapon you can start with that can dominate across the map, which kinda ruins the balance. Even in Reach there was a recoil, so it wasn’t possible to spam someone from across the map.
