Just monitor the proportional usage between the DMR and the BR in MLG games.
Obviously if there ends up being seven DMR’s for every BR, then there might be an issue. But if the numbers are only slightly skewed, it’s fine.
Reasoning is that you wouldn’t want to sacrifice your competitive potential (especially in important matches) on an inferior weapon, so MLG players would naturally (if not subconsciously) gravitate towards the more reliable/better weapon, e.g. survival of the fittest.
So, personal preferences of the community aside, I’d say this would easily solve the debate.
Go watch videos from Dallas.
There was actually a quote from one of the players (Neighbor I think): “Well guys the BR sucks. Back to the DMR”

Well I wouldn’t say one MLG player is enough for this. These observations and whatnot would have to be analyzed with legitimate statistics to determine definitively. It’s child’s play for a developer to monitor such numbers.
Back in BF3, when DICE massively rebalanced air vehicles and their ground counters, DICE monitored vehicle statistics and decided that a stabilization of helicopter usage numbers meant their change was acceptable.
