Hi everyone so ok lately I have been on a HUGE regeneration field kick and as of now it is my new favorite armor ability.
I wanted to make this tread to have an in depth discussion about strategy revolving around the Regen field.
So I have found it is most beneficial to lay down a field while it is partially obstructed by a wall or other obstacle. This way you can poke out and shoot at people but when you start taking heat you can get some cover and instantly start recharging your shields. You also want to make sure that you lay one down just before a fight, that is the best time to. You need to anticipate. Laying one down while you are getting shot is not the way to go.
Let me recommend two perks that combo extremely well. First off AA efficiency. The regen field recharges quite slowly and is massively helped by AA efficiency, and lets you reposition the field much more often and easily. Second is sensor. The sensor will inform you of enemy locations quite well and if you use that information you can lay down fields in better positions and avoid ever being shot while laying one down.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I uploaded two videos on haven and adrift I played earlier today so you can see how I use it!
Please, feel free to comment and add what you think about the regen field and tactics you use with it.
I would’ve loved to use the Regen Field more, but if you die while in one, the game glitches and plays the muffled sounds even after you respawn. In order to get regular sound back, you have to get back in one and then step out. This glitch is a Regen Field deal-breaker for me.
The regen field is the stuff of nightmares, more than a few times I got the dreaded sound glitch. It ruins the game, it gives me a headache. If a teammate drops a regen I avoid it at all costs, even if it costs me my life. I’d rather run through a pulse nade than a regen field, it’s less risky.
Have you considered running it with Shielding? The recharge rate boost doesn’t take affect when you simply sit inside the field, but if you strafe back and forth into it from an edge, your shield recharges ridiculously fast.
You won’t be able to drop the field as often, but when you do you will be very hard to kill.
Ah alas the dreaded sound glitch indeed. So dying while in one is what triggers it ok didn’t know that. seems like a fairly easy correction; that is if you are using the regen field
S OO DeM I have considered the shielding yes, it is a very good combo and would be quite useful in a lot of situations. I ended up edging it AA efficiency however, as the slow recharge timer of the field hampers its use, particularly with how I’m looking to play which is to constantly be repositioning myself and the field. Also I figure that being able to spam a larger number of them with efficiency will be a greater help to my team.

The glitch also happens when you’re in a regen when it goes down. So if you see a regen in a hallway blocking your path, you don’t know how long it has been there for. If you try to run through it, it could go down at anytime.
