Two teams - offense and defense. Offense team must capture all strongholds within game time. Defense team must keep at least one base to win.

Let us set bonus points for gaining Total Control of a map.

Land Grab
A rounds-based variant of Strongholds where you must gain and keep Total Control for 1 minute to win the round.
EDIT: You can actually do this by editing the Strongholds settings anyway.

Really hoping this is one of the Forge improvements.
People can play how they want. I get that. This is strongholds though, not Slayer. I have no idea why people play Strongholds as if it is about kills. It’s about captures and secures. You get kills in the process. Captures and secures however, should be the top priority. I get irritated when I see someone on a mini gun the entire match in BTB Strongholds on certain maps. If you are using the mini gun to mow people down from capturing the point then fine, but not on top of the damn building when the point is inside.
The same goes for CTF. I’m like is this really happening AGAIN? I’m the only person back here playing defense. So when they drive a F’ing Mongoose or Ghost in here and it’s 2 v 1 and sometimes 3 v 1 and they get the flag, now everyone wants to scatter like roaches. CTF can be great and so can Strongholds. Part of it is the way people play. That’s why these modes need their own playlist so that people who are focused and objective based choose to play.

One, no it isn’t, for the sole fact that it doesn’t use REQs. Two, yes. I have played the game. A lot. Three, a lot of these improvements were actually possible to make as gametype variants in previous Halos, so why not now?

Yeah, I’ve had teams like that a couple of times. It gets annoying when you lose at Strongholds or CTF because the majority of your team was panicking over their K/D as if it was some sort of ultimate testament to their skill (which it isn’t unless you’re playing Slayer).
Only suggestion I have is to just revert it back to KOTH because Strongholds is just an over-complicated version of that. Another unnecessary gametype.

I thought it resembled Territories more than King of the Hill.
