A Response: Why are people upset about the Falcon?

People are upset because we feel cheated for the billionth time by a company we were forced to trust with something beloved to us and has been consistently letting us down. We expected better from this update because 343i had been getting better and listening to the community for a change, as can be attested to by any member of the HCFP.
Once again, the marketing people over at 343i used the “Bait-and-Switch” method of advertising, saying this update was going to be Memories of Reach, then having next to no Reach content, deliberately covering the Phaeton with an ONI Symbol when they knew the forums would interpret this as our wishes finally being answered.
It’s like this: You buy Cards against Humanity 2.0, open the box to see that you’ve gotten fewer cards than when people had bought the game in the past. You’re miffed, but you can still play since some of the content is there. You’re told that they’re sorry and will continue to send you the missing content in the coming months. You’re told that months after paying for the game that a super-duper-extra-special pack will be coming your way, with the specific requests you’ve been making for years before 2.0 released, and for months since. Then the marketing comes out, and they pretend to confirm it. The community blew up with expectation, because why wouldn’t they? Then finally, after weeks of anticipation and delays, they post a reveal and instead of what you essentially feel owed because they all but told you that you were going to get it, you are shown you’re getting more useless garbage cards that you don’t ever use anyways.
So yes, people are mad about the Falcon not being in the game, and apparently not ever going to be in the game, but people are more upset that 343i has once again betrayed our trust and toyed with our emotions, all of it intentionally.
EDIT: It sure doesn’t help with the community’s opinion of them that whenever a thread came up criticizing 343i, it was locked down like the forums is some-kind of fascist state. We have the right to be heard. That being said, those of us that are just flaming need to have some self control. If you’re really mad at 343i, don’t play Halo 5. Until such time as we receive at least a formal statement or valid explanation as to the deception, I’m not playing it. 343i listens to money, and if people don’t play their game, they’re in trouble.

Breath in, Breath out. Realize assumptions lead to disappointment.

I like how people are saying the deliberately used the oni symbol… yep I guess they deliberately called the smg a dime… and the br an assault rifle… and had the shark tooth skin on there twice… yep all deliberately… no… people just assumed what it was and now they are wrong they are throwing a tantrum… the falcon sucked. It would suck in H5… no one hardly guns in vehicles as is the falcon would be no different… it would just be an easy laser or rocket launcher kill for an opposing team.

Lmao it was the community’s fault that they wildly speculated and decided that the hidden REQ MUST be a Falcon, when it literally could have been anything. People are making nonexistent connections by assuming just because the update is called “Memories of Reach” that they’re 100% going to have all their dreams come true.

They aren’t baiting anyone, people willingly chose to hype this up and make wild guesses themselves. It could have been a flamethrower, spike grenades, playable elites, anything, but you decided it’s a Falcon, you were wrong, and now you’re buttmad.

Get over it.

They released a revised version of the sheet where the mistakes were fixed, and the ONI symbol wasn’t one of the mistakes revised, so yes, it was deliberate.
And if you think the Falcon would be such an easy triple kill, you should want it in the game for your own sake.
