…for 343 to ditch Ordnance, Killcams, AAs, Sprint, Loadouts, Instant Respawn, JIP, Flinch, and Progression Ranking systems and basically make the game a clone of H2/H3 with slight improvements.
Do you want to kill the franchise even faster?
Players abandoned H3 and the H3 formula. MW2 came out, the game with all the things everyone loves to hate and rage and rag on and people dropped H3 like it was a hot potato. Thinking that going back to that formula is going to make H5 more of a roaring “success” (the "s are there for a reason, think about it) than H4 is frankly in my mind, silly.
There are things that H5 can do to provide everyone with an experience they want but trying to de-age the Halo franchise to it’s H3 days isn’t going to work considering that it’s no longer 2007.
No offense but the ignorance in your post is overwhelming.
By no means did people “abandon Halo 3”, it had a ridiculously long run time and competed for the top spots on the XBL charts with COD for years after release
> basically make the game a clone of H2/H3 with slight improvements.
Compare Halo CE to Halo 3.
Vastly different, yet are both the same at their core.
Your argument is a strawman, I’m not even sure why I’m responding. I want modern elements tossed, I don’t want a clone. I’d be more than fine with an actual successor to Reach instead of this CoD inspired title.

H3 tossled with MW for top spot but it was immediately knocked down to #2 as soon as MW2 came out and never reclaimed it.
Lol, half the stuff you just said 343 is starting to remove from halo 4, Pro is getting rid of loadouts, how many playlist actually have killcam? Again towards AA’s and pro, and jip has been scaled back a ton. This thread is a joke, everything you mentioned is why most ditched halo 4, why do you think it took all the way to mw2 for halo 3 to loose its top spot?(2 years) Even then it was a strong second.

So it was taken over by the top selling shooter on consoles 2 years into it’s life cycle… by no means does that show people abandoning it, if anything it shows the success of the old core elements, 2 years on top VS the few months we’ve seen with Halo 4.

There’s so much that went wrong with H4 that it’s all but impossible to pinpoint a specific cause.
Reach did better than H3 did with AAs and Loadouts.

Reach did better with initial sales then Halo 3 but not with longevity.
I don’t believe the inclusion of AA’s and loadouts had anything to do with Reach’s early on sales, I think it had more to do with the XBL population size since the population base has obviously grown a huge amount since 2007 to 2010 there’s clearly going to be more sales on their key franchise.

They’ve been very specific. Paraphrased it really does just boil down to ‘Make H5 like H3.’

Not going to happen.
If anything is going to take CoD down it’s going to be a new IP that goes in a completely new direction than either Halo or CoD has gone.
> Pros and fans are fleeing in masses, and the online numbers are embarrassing.
For so many reasons it’s impossible to pin it on the MP settings.

I agree completely, the OP obviously hasn’t the slightest awareness of his astonishing ignorance.

“We” (real fans and previously skilled players and supporters of this beloved franchise) know what “we” want and it is definitely not anything bearing any semblance to Reach and Call of Halo 4.

As I said I’m aware that Reach sold more and therefor had a larger player base but the thing is that the player base drop off was much higher for Halo Reach then it was for 3, also the fact still stands that Reach did no where near as well on the charts when compared to Halo 3, it’s a given to have more players when the XBL population grows such a significant amount but with Reach the franchise retained a much smaller segment of that population then Halo 3 did.

The exodus of Pros and casuals alike can be 100% laid at the feet of MM.
What do you think keeps player coming back and engaged? Campaign?
