A response to the Cat Ear haters out there (nothing vulgar rexlax)

Ok so I’ve seen a lot of people, for lack of a better term, getting butthurt about the cat ears simply existing, so I’m just gonna say what people have been saying about the store since day 1:

“It’s only cosmetic, it doesn’t affect gameplay.”

I honestly HATE this argument, but in this scenario, it makes more sense here than it does defending the store.

However I feel the need to ask: Does seeing cat ear attachments on Spartans REALLY piss you off THAT much that it ruins the great gameplay you all go on about?! And if it does, why not just, I dunno, play MCC a game that has toggle options so you don’t have to look at new cosmetics?

Seriously guys, take a good hard look at yourself in the mirror, and ask “Why do I hate this?” rather than just ranting about the existence of a cosmetic accessory. I mean I hate half the armors in Halo 5, but I don’t whine about them ruining my experience.

Because it’s literally everywhere. I also only play Infinite for about 30 minutes a day if that, I do 1 level up in the battlepass a day, unless Tenrai or another Fracture Event shows up I don’t spend more than 30 minutes a day on Infinite. Yes the core gameplay is decent, but without Forge it gets stale insanely fast, a customs are still a mess.

I’m just tired of trying to find decent Halo news through all the “Cat Ears Bad” BS.

I think the cat ears are fine. I’m glad to see people customize their Spartans.

So tonight I decided to get the cat ears. I wasn’t planning to initially, but my favorite helmet is the starting one, and I do like cats. The tabby gun charm is awesome.

It actually looks pretty nice with my main coating, too!

I guess if I’m going to spend some dough on cosmetics, it might as well be something fun.

I think the biggest problem about cat ears is, that it shows how many people have no problem to throw 9$ into the bucket for a cosmetic item that would have been free in mcc or years ago. It show the acceptance of microtransactions. “But it is f2p, they need the money” bullsh*t is what I hear from those people. If nobody buys it, it becomes cheaper or for free. And nobody asked for that, make the mp/sp full price bundle and Im fine, the game would have more maps, cosmetics and gamemodes out of the box then too.

I was going to say the same thing, but I backed out on it because frankly, you can apply that to any item, not just cat ears.

What annoys me is it’s so early, they put cat ears before so many important and lore based armor.

My other reason is people are supporting the ridiculous store prices just because cat ears…

I have no issue with them but would I rather actual halo armor? Yes! Do I support the price they charge regardless of what it is? HELL NO!

It’s the pricing, and utter disrespect for lore based armor, and how the whole system is designed with a greedy out of touch mind. I could care less if you rock cat ears. It’s just they put everything on the backburner except the store and how they can get in your wallet. shameful.

I’m conflicted on the cat ears.
On the one hand, they are - like everything in the store - grossly overpriced, and you can’t even use them on everything.
On the other hand, they are exactly the kind of thing that SHOULD be in the store.

As far as lore based armor goes, I really wish they just put something in to make it justified. Something like, “Spartan scouts use these forward-facing auditory chambers to identify individual noises at massively increased distances.” Rather than simply “anthropomjolnir.”

I still vehemently disagree with their store practices.
…but I really liked the ears. They have lore in my mind and I have a feeling they’ll make my favorite helmet that much better, if ever one appears that I like better than Cavallino.

Sorry guys. Hate myself for spending that money but I wanted to be prepared for if a helmet I want comes along and I want the ears to supplement.

Which is another reason the store is problematic, btw, but I’m not getting into that now.
